As an older DJ, I struggle with whether or not to still make time for my passion.   With age and family comes responsibility and the inner battle is always what I should be doing, versus what I want to do. Do I make another mix? Is there even a point? 🤷‍♂️ Do I keep trying to make "fetch" happen? Well as much as I try, DJing is something that is just in me, and regardless of where life brings me I can't quite you DJing. 🥹 I wanted the title and first track to be a metaphor for what goes through the mind of an aging DJ, where sometimes the internal battle of responsibility vs. passion, just makes you want to scream like an Ol' Dirty Bastard! Luckily, I got through it and found myself "in the zone" the night I pressed record for this mix. Hope you enjoy!

Back in the day, Mt. Doyle was known for his smooth taste in Drum & Bass and his unmatched love for pizza. But it wasn't long before Doyle expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful West Coast flavour. He quickly became a staple in the BC electronic music scene, known not only for his multi-genre sets but his range of recorded mixes as well.

Over the past 10 years, Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over the North West, including Shambhala, Lightning In A Bottle, Rifflandia, Electric Love, Wicked Woods, Friendzy Fest, Fozzy Fest, Bamboo Bass, Astral Harvest, Ska Fest, Sun Fest and The Tall Tree Festival. In that time he’s shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Camo & Krooked, Ed Solo, A.Skillz, Stickybuds, The Funk Hunters, Chali 2na, JFB, Dub FX, Rusko, Technimatic, LSB & DRS, Serial Killaz, Dub Pistols, Ray Keith, Netsky and Andy C.

In 2016 Mt. Doyle started The Hydration Mix Series, a monthly Liquid Drum & Bass podcast with DJs Akela, Willisist, Erski, Reflektor, Lasu and DJ Surgeon. Later that year Doyle took on a whole new style as he joined the ranks of Victoria based Hip-Hop band Illvis Freshly, where he made his singing debut. Now, when he's not solo, you can catch his live set with Doyle on vocals and Philly on the guitar.

Over the years Mt. Doyle has established himself as one of the most versatile DJs on Vancouver Island. With a mountainous lust for music and style that keeps you guessing, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time, any place, with whatever the hell he wants.

With over 20 years of experience, Not Lazy has kept dance floors moving in Canada’s West Coast electronic music scene for some time now. 
Known for his infectious energy and dynamic performances, Not Lazy has graced the stages of the Shambhala Music Festival and Bitf Festival, Fortstival, and several other private events leaving a lasting impression on every crowd.

Specializing in a wide array of genres, including house, breaks, UK garage, and drum and bass, he seamlessly blends tracks with fun, familiar samples that keep the dance floor buzzing. His sets are a journey through sound, filled with unexpected twists and turns that showcase his deep knowledge and passion for music. 
With a passion for lyrics, catchy rhythms & bass you can expect a rollercoaster of sounds making you want to move your body. 

Beyond the decks, Not Lazy is a dedicated  promoter within the Vancouver BC community, as one of the key organizers behind the emerging Mt. Pleasantries parties. These events have become a hub for local music lovers, fostering a vibrant and inclusive scene filled with good music, art, and high vibes.

Whether it's a massive festival stage or an intimate underground party, Not Lazy brings the same level of enthusiasm and excitement to every performance. His passion for music and good vibes is obvious when seeing his infectious energy behind the decks.
