Wii Melody By ASTRONAUT!

We are happy to present a mix by @san-miguel-berlin as our 42th IST. He's dj, producer and founder of Phonothek Records, based in Berlin. As an creative and outgoing guy he wanted to share his passions in many ways, so he also founded „Einfach Liebe“ – a community of various artist and a pool for a variety of events like festivals, healing gatherings and much more – all in the mission of love.
Ever since he was a child the acoustic world was always the centre of San Miguels universe. Grown up in East Berlin he was diving deeper and deeper into the sound of the multifarious city of tunes, so music turned into his passion. Mixed at his blooming yard, this 42th edition is a colorful journey which pulls together vibrant melodies and tunes. It’s a smooth ride inspired by the summertime and it’s festivals. IST 042\San Miguel

Festina Lente, or σπεῦδε βραδέως, roughly translates from ancient Greek as "make haste slowly", or "more haste, less speed".  This proverb means to make progress, to advance and grow, but to do so gently, with great care and intention.  I love this phrase. 

It's in the spirit of Festina Lente that I made this mix. It took me a long time to compile, with much thought and care put into the track selection and transitions. And it is a slow downtempo mix, never above 90bpm.  It's best listened to with Festina Lente in mind: not in a hurry, but slowly and deliberately.

Win moved to Toronto from the East Coast 6 years ago, and immediately found inspiration in the incredible Toronto electronic music scene. After years of immersing herself in music and becoming a regular on Toronto dance floors, she bought herself a secondhand controller and since then she has never turned back. She is the founder of Nomada Project, a live music and deep house fusion event in Toronto, and she is a resident DJ at Architextures, one of Toronto's best weekly dance nights. Win's sets are inspired by the rhythms of the globe blending together deep house, downtempo electronica and world fusion.
