Jungle Ritual 001 ꩜ KONRAD DYCKE | Live Magic

Born in the countryside of São Paulo, in a domicile where the musical taste was expansive and grateful, Marina Brito — as a child took piano, guitar and flute lessons; hence her love for harmony and creation. Definitely an artist who sings, dances and plays for the Earth, for the dreams, the elementals, the deep affection, the sorrows of the world — she's Selva Leoa. Currently living in Uruguay, where she's been striving efforts in order to establish her presence in the electronic scene, the DJ and producer is also bringing the perspective of her unique merged downtempo to the table. 

Our 213th edition is a backyard-recording session in which in 113 minutes Selva Leona sonically travels through diverse territories; mostly fusing influences from folklore, ancient world cultures and organic instrumentation into a rich world of detail. From note to note: vivid, surprising and well-crafted.

kośa is a soundsmith, the alter ego of Tarun Jakhodia; a designer, DJ and head of bringing to the table aromas and extracts of comtemporary mixing — downtempo, acid house and minimal deep-tech ranging from 80 to 120 bpm, electronic yet organic tunes, deep hypnotic meditative grooves and solid kicks infused with Indian, Arabic and other ethnic influences which they beautifully term 'spiritual deeptech' a genre coined by kośa, rooted in the deepest part of India's underground scene located in Pune near the bustlin city of Bombay.

Recorded live on a nice breezy Sunday in his apartment's balcony, the 102-min mixtape crafted by kośa as our 224th edition took inspiration in some of their upcoming secret weapons releases, several projects and EPs on the way. So you betta taste the freshness of it!

With the exception of Soundcloud, the German Stefan Fritz keep himself a low-profile and left social media completely a year ago, we don't even know if it's his real name for sure (joke ends). Despite that, the declarated mountain-lover Stefan lives in the Bavarian elevations near the Austrian border  and shares music as other passion.

Physically, this 225th edition was recorded in his basement studio affectionately called BoilerRomm as it is located behind the boiler room where no one can be disturbed by the music. And for over 100 minutes the German DJ somehow is telling you that slow music can also be danced to.

It's been a long time since I've been so excited to perform and meet warm people. 
The last time I was in beautiful Switzerland was 4 years ago. 4 years ago I played one of my first DJ sets and now it should be my second live set. Already then the experience was very formative and enriching, but this time it was a unique experience. 
The few days with the Echoes family were wonderful, I am very grateful for the encounters. Thanks to all who were there.
The whole event was beautifully orchestrated. Wonderful decoration, wonderful people, music as medicine. For me the second live set was over incredibly fast, I was almost like in a kind of trance while playing. Thank you to everyone who danced and was there, you helped create this special space.

This set means so much to me… 

These sounds are the culmination of my Guatemala and Costa Rican adventures, inspired by all the people I met along the way and the energy of the places that held me. 

It really showcases my current sound, and where I’m heading. 

Darker, deeper, more jungly, synthy, percussive, fun, yet emotional and downright dirty baby.

I was truly inspired by my Berlin, South American and Cali crew that became family at Perezoso. Can you hear it!?

A funktion 1 in the jungle might just be my favorite place to play, who’s with me? 

Can’t wait for next year!
