The physics of frequency has always captured Z and its implementation into EDM electronic digital music. A collage of brutal, industrial sound, layered over the deep pop visuals of street art,  portraiture, and landscape. Reminiscent of the musique concrète from the 1950’s, particularly Karlheinz Stockhausen's Gesang der Jünglinge, and the work of Philip Glass, Kristina Kubsich, Carla Scaletti, and Brian Eno. Z, was born Patrick Rocco di Santo at PAFB USSAC (Plattsburgh Air Force Base United States Strategic Air Command) and spent most of his early years traveling North America, giving him an extensive foundation of experiences. He began writing at age 10, experimenting with multiple frequencies and platforms of media while always returning to songwriting under the moniker 9. 

Directing his first film at 8 on the Great Lakes, he learned technique at his fathers studio in the town where wilderness artist Fredrick Remington made his home on the St Lawrence. Heading to film school in the Midwest, he worked within the experimental film pioneers in Pittsburgh. It was here where Warhol suggested he try his hand in the New York and Los Angeles art film scene to showcase his joining of feature film and music. Exploring EDM at the studio of Francesco Scavulo, he collaborated with Peter Greenaway, Godfrey Reggio, Philip Glass, Michael H. Henderson, Robert Altman, Gorgio Meroder. Releasing an early single “I know What I Want” in 1989 from the 1990 EDM release Mile Age with EDM featured in “Baraka'' by Ron Fricke. The 1992 EDM release “Rebel” produced with Malcolm McLaren was eclipsed by the single “Alright” off the album/film “Because” released in 1993 produced with Floyd F. Fisher and Hank Shock Lee; Alright remained on the charts for 63 mo. and was followed by “Mayday” off the album/film “Mortal Walk” 1998 produced with Rick Rubin.

“35 Cents”, the 2006 feature length EDM with Michael H. Henderson explores earlier collaborations allowing the audience to revel in the synaesthetic experience of 1968. “Suspension” the 2009 sequel continues frequency, experimentation  allowing the viewer to submerge themselves within the Hudson Valley environment created with Michael H. Henderson. The conclusion “Sensorium'' was released post 2012 post head injury. In 2013 “Alright” was re-released after the success of its tribute track “Superstar DJ” by Chemical Brothers. “Walk Alone” off  the 1992 album Rebel, with guitarist Victor Perez was similarly tributed by Green Day in 2004 with “Blvd of Broken Dreams' off American Idiot. 

One of the founding members of the EDM group “Case Trick” released their first recording,  “Shadowland” EP, in 2019 with over 10,000 views in the first weekend. This was followed by their debut full-length, “Reliquarium”, in October 2020 which saw over 100,000 in its first weekend. Going on to win best song "Alright" 15 anniversary re-release."Garden" winning best video at Cannes Film Festival and "Om 3" Best Educational film at the Singapore Film Festival closing out 2021.

~Patrick di Santo  continues to participate extensively with American Children's Rights, Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Disability Rights; he was diagnosed with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in 2012 and is one of the writers in support of S. 3963 (IS) Protecting Survivors from Traumatic Brain Injury Act of 2022 and the Kansas Head Injury Protocol (KHIP) and Parental Alienation with Dr. Craig Childress, Psy. D.
