About the EP
In ancient Indian Texts, the Brahmastra (Sanskrit: ब्रह्‍मास्‍त्र, IAST: Brahmāstra) and its variants, the Higher brahmastra , and Brahmashirsha astra, are supernatural weapons collectively called Brahma weapons. The Brahmashirsha astra is a weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe, capable of destroying creation and vanquishing all beings. They are the most destructive, powerful, and irresistible weapons mentioned in Hinduism. These weapons are all created by Lord Brahma.
It is termed as a fiery weapon that creates a fierce fireball, blazing up with terrible flames and countless horrendous thunder flashes. When discharged, all nature including trees, oceans, and animals tremble, and the sky surrounds with flame, glaciers melt and mountains shatter with copious noise all around.
When used, the Brahmastra which is person-centric can destroy a powerful enemy if he doesn't possess an alternate counter weapon. If it is Bhrmashirsha Astra it makes collateral damage and every useful resource in a given area and prevents even a single blade of grass from ever growing in that area again. It is mentioned in Epic that there will be no rainfall for 12 Brahma years (1 Brahma year = 3.11 Trillion Human years; 12 Brahma years = 37.32 Trillion Human years) and climate conditions will worsen. The strike of the Brahmastra will eventually destroy everything.
Arjuna and Ashwatthama almost used the Brahmashira astra against each other near the end of the Kurukshetra War, however both were stopped by Narada, Krishna and Vyasa to prevent the destruction of the world.

1) What is your favorite book to read? -> 

 It's not my favorite book, but it's one I feel compelled to share. It's "Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem. This book is a gem. It's metaphorical and profound about human thought and the beauty of the world. Some passages made me understand colors and senses that don't exist in everyday life, except maybe in a trip.

2) If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

 -> The power I would like to have as a superhero is not needing to sleep. Sleep represents one-third of our life; not needing sleep would allow for more time for oneself, passions, and maximum partying.

3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? 

-> In relation to what was said before, I have already gone nearly 42 hours without sleeping. Why? Enthralled by the musical vibes and the excitement of a fantastic festival, there's simply no need for sleep. Those are the best moments of our lives.

(aka Franck Collin) titled ‘Intox Remedy’ from his forthcoming split EP with Silicon Scally (@siliconscally) "Slip" on the independent British record label, founded in Sheffield in 2012, specialising in electronic music : Central Processing Unit.

Silicon Scally and Fleck E.S.C. need no introduction at this stage. Both artists are veterans not just of Sheffield’s Central Processing Unit label but of modern electro as a whole, with the pair having decades of skin in the game at this point. Their new release, a four-track EP entitled Slip where Silicon Scally handles the first half and Fleck E.S.C. the second, carries itself with the adventurous confidence of a record made by masters of their craft.

Slip opener ‘Phased Array’ is exactly the kind of top quality machine-funk tackle you’d expect from this meeting of minds. The beat programming is deliciously tactile from the off, hissing and clanking like machinery in an old Detroit factory. The feel of ‘Phased Array’ is altered, though, when the chords come in, a series of alternating floating sounds which give the track an altogether eerier feel. When all of this is coupled with the otherworldly synth blurts that periodically force their way to the front of the track, the overall effect is a piece of real depth assembled by an expert practitioner.

Fleck E.S.C. opens the Slip B-side with ‘Good Ride’, a number where the nudge-wink title is borne out by a track built around looped snippets of sighing vocals. That said, with a bassline that sounds like a blurting old landline telephone, a ghoulish synth lead and all manner of motion-sick breakdowns, the ‘ride’ in question could just as well be a Wipeout-style whizz through hyperspace as anything more suggestive. ‘Good Ride’ also sets itself apart from the other joints here by showing off a swaying halftime breakdown.

‘Intox Remedy’, Slip’s closer, wraps the EP in a manner which continues some of the trends of the record’s earlier tracks - richly tuneful chords, precision-engineered broken beat drum programming and a wide palette of delightfully unusual synth tones are all present and correct. However, there is also something about the chords here which pares back the eeriness of previous joints for a bit more of a wide-eyed, stargazing feel, and as such ‘Intox Remedy’ sees the record out by placing the listener firmly back in the cosmos.

Tough enough for the dancefloor and intricate enough for home listening, the Slip EP is a fabulous collaboration from two of the most respected voices in the electro game.

Pfandtastisch! Eine riesige Meute Soundpirat*innen hat sich dazu bereit erklärt, feine Musik für den vierten und bisher größten Kopfüber Sampler zu produzieren.

Dieses Mal geht es nicht um die Schiffe der Seawatch, die wir mit dem letzten Solisampler unterstützt haben. Unser eigenes Schiff schwankt, angesichts der aktuellen Lage und steht stillgelegt in seinem Heimathafen. Pawn-tastic! A huge mob of sound pirates* has agreed to produce fine music for the fourth and so far biggest Kopfüber sampler.

This time it's not about the Seawatch ships we supported with the last soli sampler. Our own ship is wavering, given the current situation and stands idle in its home port. Therefore we decided to encourage friends and crew members to produce and then put the collected sounds on Bandcamp as a soli-sampler for a humane price. Any income will be used to secure the monthly rent for our Verwirrtshaus!

We are looking forward to your support to keep our project running in times like these. Future samplers will be free downloads again!
