In love with Jazz and everything it gave birth to, Paul Cut seeks to maintain a long-standing tradition by merging it with House music. Whether by sampling tracks in the studio or playing keyboards on stage, his sole purpose is the Groove.
Paul Cut had his two very first releases on parisian labels : The Joy EP with Ondulé Recordings, held by Joss Moog and Around7, and Serious Intentions EP as keyboardist for the D.ko Records' live band, Secret Value Orchestra.
Popcorn began its vinyl releases four years ago with dj and producer Lowris. New comer at that time, he has since then become famous resident of Concrete Paris Parties and a recognized producer. It is therefore naturally that the 10 th release will be devoted to a newcomer, the young and talented Paul Cut and his Basement Jam EP.

SB PREMIERE: David Bay - Peach Melba [Zissou Records]

Outplay was founded in 2012 by Dutch producer duo Fouk, otherwise known as Daniel Leseman & Junktion.  The label focuses on the deeper side of house and for their next release it’s a three track affair by the elusive and ever so mysterious Clive from accounts.
 
Number cruncher extra-ordinaire by day, brilliant music producer by night, Outplay are pretty amped to release this EP by the self proclaimed “regional tiddlywinks champion” and “all-round beige sky thinker” Clive.  Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices.  
 
Clive first sent in a one track demo of “Bisou” and the label was blown away by the top notch production quality, feeling that it really stood out from anything else in their inbox.  Over the course of a year Outplay asked Clive to fill out an EP.  The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.  “Keep Movin” is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs.  The title track “The Trouble With Clive” has that big beefy garage effect going on.  The EP closes out with “Bisou” - a floaty warm stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep house sound.   Oh ….and I’m supposed to tell you that it’s Hawaiian shirt day on Friday!
