Wow. What a Swan Song. This crushes my soul as much as it crushes it as a final collaboration between two incredibly gifted musi-cats. Whether the lyrics are meta-meant to likewise provide a gorgeous yet heartwrenching Last WIll and Testametament, it certainly cuts me to the quick, leaves me bleeding and craving all the more, even as I struggle to grasp the harsh and cruel finality -- the Idea that this once-in-a-lifetime magic, this larger than life Ca(s)t may never come back.

So cute and quirky, lovely vox and synthy weirdness!

Jeez --how could something this good come from a fraught partnership? Or how could it not. Life is short and nothing says you gotta do this, unless it does.  I sure like this tune.

Thank you all for your wonderful feedback on the tracks I have posted from my current album “Focal”. I’ve enjoyed sharing them and reading your comments. Other than the remix I did for “All Kinds of Wonder”, this is actually my first track for 2023.
It’s a familiar style from M.E. 
For those that gravitate to my emotive and melodic work, I hope this finds you comfort and warmth. 
And for anyone that stumbles across this song; perhaps you will have a growing fondness to it.

Mood Exhibit - A  Growing Fondness

I am now particularly glad to present my 1st ever collaboration in a musical trio! This great idea was due to DjArtw2001 (https://soundcloud.com/djartw2007), who took the initiative and mixed in MAGIX a part composed by DAN-DT (https://soundcloud.com/Dan-T-3) - originally, I understand, in 2018 - with a part I composed on 17 February 2023 and a part DjArtw2001 composed himself on 18 February 2023 into a new track that we release today on SounClound, under the title of "Trois versions d'une histoire" (or, in our English translation for those who do not read French, "Three Versions of a Story"). We thank Josh Boyer (Future Analysis: https://soundcloud.com/futureanalysis), who used to work with DAN-DT and who recorded with him the vocal samples. We hope that you will enjoy the track!

The painting in the artwork cover for the track was created by DAN-DT on 19 February 2023, and then the artwork cover was annotated and completed using PowerPoint and Mac OS Preview by Alex M on 27 February and 4 March 2023 - in coordination and agreement with DjArtw2001 and DAN-DT.

This is a song written about my childhood friend Paul Bailey. Between the ages of about 8 till 12 he was my best friend and we were inseparable. Then his family moved away and I never saw him again. That was almost 60 years ago. I still remember him and the times that we had, though I am sometimes amazed that we survived, they were very different times......

A few production notes, the drum kit is entirely comprised of samples I recorded of my own mouth-sounds, a tedious process, but I've always wanted to try it and this song presented the perfect thematic opportunity!
For longtime fans, the video features some old familiar faces, Loveman (from the 'Let Me Love You' video) and Funkman (from 'In A Funk' fame), they were more than pleased to join me in singing and dancing to this track!
And lastly, this has been my first attempt at such sneaky video editing techniques, it was quite marvellously fun and edifying to spend some time and effort creating and learning new techniques :D

Is anyone still out there?
Well hello there if you are taking some of your valuable time to read this! As the lyrics to this (probably)final song say, its been a long while……
The last time I checked into Soundcloud was maybe last December, wow…. 
I packed up for a holiday in Hawaii, ran the Honolulu Marathon, watched a volcano erupt, cast my dog’s ashes into a lava field and drank a tropical island's worth of cocktails while watching the sunset with my wife. And then returned a few weeks later decidedly unenthused about the Cat and my collaborator.
Gina had been making noises about returning to an on again / off again musical partner. That wasn’t unexpected and was actually a bit of a relief as I hadn’t been enjoying this for a while. Our last few songs had been tortuous to finish, including this one which was finally finished I think way back in October 2022.
Cat Came Back was always a lot like an arranged marriage - nothing at all in common but we kind of made it work 3 minutes at a time. But by late last year, it had become very hard work. And as you fellow Soundclouders know, outside of personal satisfaction, the rewards for all of that hard work are not very large. So, if the personal satisfaction is gone, there’s not a lot left to motivate oneself. 
In addition to that, there were a few rather large elephants in the room regarding my collaborator that I won't go into but nevertheless constantly weighed very heavily on my mind throughout our time together and I was finding these increasingly difficult to continue to ignore for the sake of making music together.
So anyway, when I returned a perhaps brief hiatus accidentally turned into this - silence for what, 7-8 months? Haven’t picked up an instrument in all that time and they currently sit in my garage gathering dust. Took up Chess, what a rabbit hole that is! Continued running. Listening as always to a lot of old jazz. Continued seemingly never ending renovations to my house. Spent a lot of time with my lifelong friend, William Styron’s Black Dog, as a matter of fact he's here sitting right by my side now. 
So what now? I sat down a few days back and listened to a few things that were unfinished as of late last year. Maybe its time to start again. Find a new collaborator or two? Anyone know anyone who might be a match?
In the meantime I’ll dip my toe in and check out what some of my favourite Soundclouders have been up to while I was away. I'm sure I've missed out on some really great stuff.

This is a song that Artur wrote in his unique, original, and signature surf rock style, and passed it on to Josh, as a gift. Josh added some bass, and, of course, had to get the rest of the Eclectic Collective involved, too. Ken came up with the energetic, driving beat, perfectly suited for the song. JJ added some really stunning, surfy organ and jamming electric piano. Tez added his signature inspired, powerful lead in the second part. Stephen added his dynamic guitar voice to the first half, and was kind, generous, patient, and talented enough to mix and produce the whole thing.

I asked Artur the meaning of the song's title, and he told me that it refers to the soulmate some people find, who can carry you through anything, even if you or they may be a little crazy. It's about crazy love!
