I spoke on the line with French Londoner Hotel International AKA Franz Kirmann AKA 1/2 of Piano Interrupted AKA 1/2 of Days Of Being Wild Records, after catching his set at Basing House in Shoreditch early January.

We talked about his many jobs and aliases, as well as the aim behind his record label. He also introduced an extract of his Dark & Groovy Basing House set he recorded for us. Enjoy !

In the light of Convenanza Festival 2019 we bring you Sean Johnston's edit of Life In Tokyo. As an Acid House Veteran, Techno Survivor, Hardway Bros, Beard Scientist and Freelance Disco Consultant he has played at some of London's landmark clubs and regularly appeared at Wilde Renates infamous "Voyage Voyage".

Alongside Andrew Weatherall he runs and DJ's at A Love From Outer Space, a cult monthly residency at The Drop in North London. The night's manifesto is to never knowingly exceed 122bpm and is home to a multitude of genres including ambient, balearica, dub, krautrock, post punk, proto house, un-disco and other curiosities from the pair's extensive record collections.

We thought these weird times might be appropriate to share our own interpretation of Depeche Mode's classic 'The Sun and the Rainfall'.

This was intially planned as a bonus track for our first long player, nearly four years ago. It was meant to be the 11th track. But we've waited far too long. Many of you will probably find this familiar. We first didn't want to release our LP ourselves, sent a bunch of demos out, then waited on many different opportunities...it's always "a little bit too much of this" or "not enough of that", and time goes on.
Of course, if we were producing that album 'Nightshades' today, we might do it slightly differently, there are a few "mistakes" in there, but it has the merit of being honest and draw a pretty faithful picture of what we like in electronic music. 'The Sun and the Rainfall' sums that pretty well.

Catalepsia aka Jerome Bazzanella is a long time DJ and music producer based in a small town near Basel, Switzerland. He’s been playing records and recording music since the mid 90′s. He was part of Days Of Being Wild, the London based label together with Franz Kirmann (Hotel International / Piano Interrupted) that he has left in 2014.

Remixed by artists such as Nam Gabo, Hardway Bros,  Area, Scott Fraser, Los Lopez, Split Secs, Craig Bratley  Catalepsia has earned respect from his peers for his uncompromising, to the floor, funked up techno/ house production.
