Catastrophe & Cure have been at the top of their game for almost a decade now. With their 2020 album Somewhere Down the Line the quintet has rekindled its love for guitar driven-songwriting. Their latest single Cracks in the Pavement is a powerful indie rock song with driving drums, jingly guitars, subtle but elegant vocal melodies and just the right amount of a 90s vibe. For the first time, Catastrophe & Cure teamed up with one of Austria’s brightest musical talents, Katrin Paucz of the band Sharktank, whose vocal performance gives the chorus that certain something. Lyrically, Cracks in the Pavement is a song about growing older and feeling stuck. Nevertheless, it is also a song that doesn’t leave you void of any hope, but with the possibility of a new beginning.
