Something slightly different.. My course mate and I created this piece for our module assessment, using natural, outdoor sounds that we'd recorded and manipulated through Logic, enjoy :) 

Forest Adventure - Contemporary Techniques module work

Exploring the timbral qualities of instruments by using extended technique, creating overtones. I have also tried altering the listener's perception of how they associate a particular sound with a particular instrument. This project definitely pushed me to try new things! I hope you enjoy x

Another World - Exploring Timbre uni project

We were asked to create new music to accompany a film clip of our choice. I chose to do the end scenes of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.

Here is my first attempt at documentary style music.. I had to write this in about 2 and a half weeks so I feel it could definitely be improved given more time! Wildlife documentary music - Uni project

Here is a small piece that I worked on as part of researching into library music for my 3rd year module. I'm currently in the process of learning to use a more advanced software so this was created with basic Logic sounds, however I'm happy what I ended up with and pleased that I branched out a bit from the sound I normally create! (It does get a little loud towards the end.. so turn down the volume if listening through headphones!)

WILD

As explained by the title, this piece was very much focussed around field recordings of water, specifically the sea. As a group, we decided to base it around mythical stories and poems of sailors being tempted overboard by Sirens. We took a few verses from the poem The Lorelei (translated from German) by Heinrich Heine and composed an original melody for it. We then concentrated on processing live vocals and instruments such as Violin and Clarinet through the software to surround this. Our aim was to create a sense of submersion and unease in the listener.

Whispering Waters - A collaborative project with Louise Paine, Anna Stokes and Chris Symons

Here is the first of several original compositions which are all new additions to my portfolio. They have been composed as part of my final submission to complete my music degree and are now able to be released further than university walls! I hope you enjoy.
