London-based Matt Williams has been producing cutting-edge electronic dance music since 2002, having cut his teeth on London’s blossoming hard dance scene; Matt was more inspired by the hard trance sound, a sub-genre pioneered by the late, great Tony De Vit. It was here that Matt really began to make a name for himself as one half of DJ and production duo The Edison Factor with James Lawson. Signed initially to Freezing Point Recordings and later Media Records imprint Nukleuz in the same year, the duo notched up a steady slew of releases on all leading hard dance labels in the UK as well as performing at leading club nights and festivals across the UK, highlights of which included headline slots at Godskitchen’s Global Gathering and Creamfields in 2007.

Alongside hard dance studio work Matt was regularly DJing at house music events across London alongside Tom Neville, Martin ‘King Roc’ 
Dawson (RIP) and Tom Real holding a residency at Iconic London venue The End for the infamous Riot! events. It was this love of house music that naturally progressed to house music production. In 2008 Matt had his debut release on Peppermint Jam UK and in September 2009 was given the opportunity to spend a year working as in-house producer and engineer for The Park Studios in North London. Working closely with DJ and Producer Bahar Canca, the pair released a steady stream of releases on the studio’s Sub Bubble imprint.  Releases on Meat Katie’s Lot49 and Perfect Stranger’s Digital Structures followed.

In 2013 Matt started collaborating with Romanian trance and techno DJ Claudia Cazacu. Together the pair had releases on Spinnin Records imprint Oxygen, Umek’s 1605 and received heavy support From techno royalty Adam Beyer and Carl Cox for Their rework of Frank De Wulf’s seminal classic ‘The Tape’. 

In 2015 Matt teamed up with accomplished Tech House producer Ian Jay (whom he shared a common history with from the early noughties hard dance scene. Together they released original tracks and remixes on leading labels including CR2, Nervous Records, Leftwing & Kody’s Lost, Low Steppa’s Simma Black and Carpe Diem Musica with support from the likes of Hot Since 82, Sante and Anotre.

Having taken a break from studio work to focus on their young families Matt and Ian have returned to the studio in 2023 to work on a new techno album project with planned releases in 2024.

Toryn D & JFrantik are the production team behind the name 'Cause & Effect', and, causing effect is exactly what these two dynamic producers are doing to the scene right now. 

J & T are two already established producers that have been relentless and consistent with not only their productions but influence within the scene, Toryn D & JFrantik were appointed the new face of Edison-Factor.net due to their unrivalled roof-raising sounds who have been championed by artists such as Scot Project, Nick Sentience, Fabio Stein, Kutski, Lisa Lashes, BK, Anne Savage, Scott Atrill, James Lawson, Phil Reynolds, Cally Gage & Nick Rowland to name a few. 

With the birth of their first collaboration 'Feels So Good', it seems anyone & everyone is onto this track of monstrous proportion. With its 'classic' sound of yester-year; it seems to have even shaken up a few artists from the last decade to fire up new music for this infectious sound of hard dance. Not stopping there, Cause & Effect have buckets of new destructive music coming soon to labels such as Masif, Presence and of course, Edison-Factor.net, and many more. 

Cause & Effect have taken their sounds from the studio and to the stage, which sees the birth of their 'Cause & effect Live Show' featuring live instruments, live dancers and visuals.
