This track was created as response to the Disquiet Junto Project 0614: Do something you often do, but differently.
Instead of improvising a piano-melody over a field-recording, this time I created a background ambiance based on pianos and improvised noise sounds to it.
The 5 different background pianos are played by the generative MIDI sequencer Transition employing high measures of randomness (free VST-plugin available at www.codefn42.com/transition/index.html).
Three different noise-sounds were improvised with the MIDI-keyboard to this piano-background.

For this week's Disquiet Junto prompt, we were invited to collaborate with a train sample that was provided to us.

I've often joked that it's only a matter of time before any given artist or band makes a song about a train. I never thought that day would come for me. A moral dilemma.

To get the full sensation of being tied up on the tracks, I recommend listening to "The Trolley Problem" with headphones.

he_nu_ri & mikey_a - Both Sides of the River [Disquiet0637]

Andreas' orchestral musings (listen here: https://on.soundcloud.com/6DcQotEVL1dtwric8) inspired me to dust off a couple of old favourites, amongst them the Moog MurF, to try and come up with some pulsating, filtered low end guitar as well as a bunch of more hissy, trebly improvs. Recorded quite a few takes and selected those bits that complement his gorgeous, sweeping, cinematic track. A fair bit of editing in Logic Pro ensued, adding and subtracting, until the pacing & the mix felt right, with enough room to add to for the next stage, the third track.

A collaboration for Disquiet Junto. I based my track on week 2's track by @undermulden and @encym. I played some chords and synth arps from my Deluge in some of the spaces, while trying to maintain the sparse ambient feel of the originals.
