We welcome to our label the duo of German origin Parasite who present our ninth reference. After having released work on some of the biggest labels on the scene, they bring us an EP called "Abaddon". A powerful work of 4 killer tracks where a heartbreaking kick drum is perfectly complemented, with frenetic percussion and aggressive basslines focused on moving us viscerally. Very excited to have Parasite on board with this rude and corrosive work. Enjoy it!!!

Peter Kutin works with sound across genres.
His pieces have been exhibited, commissioned, performed, screened or discussed at various notable occasions and venues across the globe. He has composed and written music / sonic-environments for film, theatre, performance, ensembles, contemporary dance, radio, etc…. His interest in moving image expanded beyond music, having also developed and directed a series of experimental short films and multimedial-scenarios. He received several awards, scholarships and residencies.

Steve Hui, known as Nerve, is a multidisciplinary artist with training in contemporary classical composition and roots in the rave scene. He hacks into the existing music system by mixing art forms, crossing boundaries and experimenting with traditions. His practice transcends the boundaries between music, sound art, multimedia theatre and underground culture. His major works include the trance installation opera Somnium, the documentary opera Songs of Portrait in collaboration with Cheuk Cheung, the cinematic opera 1984, and the digital opera The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci. He is a co-operator of experimental art organisation Twenty Alpha, a lecturer of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, a resident of Hong Kong Community Radio, and a fellow of Asian Cultural Council in New York. He has performed at festivals such as CTM Berlin, LUFF Lausanne, playfreely Singapore and Sónar Hong Kong.

after their highly acclaimed debut album »decadent yet depraved«, berlin and LA-based producers belief defect invited a variety of artists to join their »remixed« project. the following 12” EP is a first four-track release of this project.

the original tracks of the album are only an approximate starting point for »remixed«. in contrast to »decadent yet depraved«, largely conceived in song structures, this EP is about transferring the pieces back into abstract space, and each remixer does it in his very own way. alessandro cortini’s one-take live recording is a lesson in classical ambient music. telefon tel aviv’s remix is timelessly modern and extremely delicate sound design. rather opposite concepts are coming from surachai’s brutal pattern design and kangding ray’s expressive and analogously saturated repetitions for the dance floor.

»remixed 01« will be released on february 08, 2019 on vinyl and digitally, further releases will follow. as with »decadent yet depraved«, the cover photo was created by sarah sitken.
