On the winding roads of escape, running away from the burning city's suffocation, in search of air, Cecilia drowns in the thick, elemental romance of Sexilia island.

The landscape oozes and recalls the radical desire of adolescent souls, a chaste and mystical resistance which flutters and strolls above through ditches, railroad edges, highway exits, stinking alleys owned by starving cats.

Sparse and sculptural breaths, the songs are drunk with melancholic infatuation.

“Summer in Sexilia” is a sensory encounter with the great despair in which the lover's courage takes shape once again, sublime, hanging on the memory of the shining stars.

In the hallucinated Summer of Sexilia, the ground trembles, the hands get dirty and the world craves for real tenderness and silent ecstasy.

Under the moniker Kagami Smile, Ryan Hill has explored a world of recordings, reminiscent of bursting, shoegaze-inspired electronic music. Via string of releases for Opal Tapes, Dream Catalogue and Forgot Imprint, Hill’s bodies of work have formed a cohesive yet sprawling practice of explorative composition, bringing together powerful flashes of broken techno beats colliding with melancholic ambiences.

On their latest album ‘Floating Underneath’, Kagami Smile builds on a foundation laid on their previous releases - amped and roaring drones & distorted kicks, which constitute a wall of sound concurrently hypnotic and deeply affective. Complementing its thematic outlines of romanticism and sentimentality, ‘Floating Underneath’s’ long-form compositional approach is an invitation to dream, sink, ebb and flow.
