At Christ Community, our desire is to give you the tools you need to fulfill your dreams and be equipped for everything God has called you to. CCC is made up of diverse individuals who come together with one goal in mind—to learn about ministry and impact the kingdom of God.

CCC was founded in 1920 through a small Pentecostal tent revival and became "non-denominational" in 1969.  Since that time the church has become home to people from many denominational backgrounds.

The church maintains a strong emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and is committed to helping people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

In 2006, the church moved to its present location on 27 acres north of Murphysboro. The new location on the highway has helped CCC to become a regional church with its prime location reaching out to all of Southern Illinois.

We believe in one eternal God, who is revealed co-equally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We Believe that Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, the Son of God, truly God, truly Man, co-equal with God. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and offered himself a perfect living sacrifice for the sins of the world by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death, ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God and dwells in the earth, and also in every Christ-follower from the moment of Salvation. He helps to conform us to the example Jesus Christ set with guidance in doing what is right, understanding the truth, and the power to live rightly. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for all Christian beliefs and living, and because it is inspired by God, we believe that it is without error. It is inerrant (without error in its original form). We also believe that the church has no authority to establish a practice or doctrine contrary to the Bible.

We believe that people are made in the very image of God, to be like Him in our thoughts, beliefs, character and actions. Every person has the capacity and potential for good, but all of us “sin,” which literally means to miss the mark. Our sin separates us from God and is the cause of much of our difficulty.

We believe that Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. Our sin cannot be forgiven by good works, or self-improvement alone. Forgiveness can only take place through our acceptance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, and only by the acceptance of Jesus’ sacrifice as an atonement for sin can a person be saved. When we turn from our self–ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

We believe there is life after physical death, and that we will be held accountable and judged by God; and that we will exist eternally with Him through our forgiveness and salvation, or will be separated from Him because of our sin. Heaven is an eternal joining with God, while Hell is to be eternally separated from Him.
