NTS Guest Mix

New Music Worldwide is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian.

Parisian based producer Low Jack, is the electronic moniker of Philippe Hallais. Taking influences from the early 90s, with pirate radio, Definitive Jux, Chicago ghetto house and Detroit electro, Low Jack’s sound puts a twist on the different elements of the scene.

With three albums released on labels such as L.I.E.S, In Paradisum and Modern Love, the French creator lets his music do the talking. Most recently, he has released the publicly acclaimed mini-LP ‘Riddims du Lieu-dit' on his own imprint Editions Gravats, which is a selection of killer cuts of mutant futuristic dancehall.

For his mix, Low Jack compiles a selection of tracks which are trying to redefine contemporary dancehall, alongside some homemade club edits, exclusive redubs and live sessions from the man himself.

Mors Mea, aka. Anja, currently based in Budapest, is behind one of the most important Youtube Channels when it comes to rare Noise cassettes from the 80s. This is only the second podcast she has ever produced, as she mostly shares her finds on two essential blogs when it comes to 80s Noise music - "Wet Dreams" and "Nostalgie De La Boue". The later also runs a label and Anja contributed vocals for a few of their releases. 

A shoe designer by day, she also worked with Philippe Pissier on his latest book and is still to return to Zagreb to finish her studies. We're happy that between all this she found the time to record this one hour mix for us reflecting her musical influences and taste. Welcome to the abyss!

For Trushmix 123 we are very happy to have SVN back in the mix. Finally a new mix is recorded, and showcases the clubby and housey side of this unique talent.
Always busy recording new productions with or without partners in the now legendary Neues Deutschland studio, and always keeping a consistent flow of high sought after quality records on his and SW's label SUED. And playing live as Dresvn with good friend and partner Dresen.

Now it's time to highlight the DJ side of SVN. This mix shows SVN as a highly talented DJ with excellent track selection.  Over one hour of pure atmospheric vintage sounding house and electronic club tracks of the highest quality. Smoothly mixed and performed in the subtle, deep way, that we know from SVN productions.
This mix shows that SVN should be playing in clubs around the world and spreading the good vibes with style.

Trushmix 123: SVN

Magic Teapot Records is an exclusive online record store in Barcelona, but also a recently launched record label (run by Daniel Baughman— A&R at Hivern Discs, booker at audiophile venue Nica —, Marco Gegenheimer - who releases on Studio Barnhus as MLiR - and Jens Ingelstedt). The DJ duo though is made up of Baughman and Gegenheimer, and when they come together they unleash hidden vinyl gems that get you dancing and romancing. Their sound is one that has a lot to say and draws on steamy tropical delights and intoxicating world music that could be thirty years old or brand new. 

Their mix for us is a 90 minute live recording of them doing what they do best at Nica, namely taking us around the globe on a real adventure that has a sense of musical wanderlust running right through it. There are intimate moments of acoustic heaven bleeding into soft, drunken synths and glorious passages of churning reggae and twinkling disco along the way. It’s music with meaning threaded together by a air of expert curators.
