Istanbul based audio/visual artist Koray Kantarcıoğlu releases his first tape output for Cloudchamber after 2016's Loopworks (Initially released as a tape from Wounded Wolf Press in 2016 and later issued as a vinyl from Discrepant Records.). 

Havuz (means pool in Turkish) is a two part piece made up of seamlessly mixed loops. Like his previous work, Koray manipulates samples he dug from Turkish records and tapes to create otherworldy sound textures. 
This time instead of a computer, Koray composed Havuz entirely on a minimal hardware setup with limited processing options. Result is an intimate, lo-fi sounding record. 

Album art is uses the collaborative work of Koray Kantarcıoğlu and Erdem Ergaz called Duopoly (2013), which combines the two different perceptions of form within a schematic arrangement.

"Possibly one of my most experimental works yet. Channeling a myriad of influences, from noise, to black metal, to post-rock and shoegaze techno. The distortion is on full display, beautiful blasts of drone interspersed with grinding ear splitting buzzsaws, chimes, church bells and ASMR poetry in between melancholic piano interludes. An ode to the first snow of the Winter."

Zeeschuim is a continuation of Zeemijl, a long-form piece from 2020. Through their density and movement, these two works become sonic sculptures of the North Sea and the Irish Sea. 

Consciously or not, life on an island is about crossing water. Crossing the river in a city or the country; crossing the sea to leave the state. When water surrounds you, it defines your existence. 
zeeschuim considers what happens under the surface of these waters, and the chaos both above and below the surface. Emergence in the currents, emergence in the life above.

After having painted her own mythology out of antique myths and literature, Golem Mecanique began to work on biblical features.

The vehicle is minimalist. The challenge, to go further with the instrument and the voice. 

For this album, Golem’s work focused in on a sound that enabled the abstract concept of Abel and Cain to become concrete, yet still built out of nothingness. 

Abel/Kane was composed as two acts of a march into a never-ending valley. 
Drone, voices, echoes, and whispers. Time gets stretched. 

Harmonies of the instrument are becoming the ancient land of sand and sad trees.

The plot is known. We know the end, but we want to see what kind of light could emerge from this loneliness. 

Frequencies are the choir of this vision. 
The songstress is Pythia. Or maybe Cassandra, and no one wants to hear the Truth she reveals. 
It is not about the myth of the first murder. It is a Greek tragedy before its invention.

Where were Abel and Cain’s parents when they began this dreadful fight? 

The paradise has been lost, and everyone is wandering in their own lament.

Where was God? Always waiting in the backstage.
