The Copenhagen based producer and DJ, is back with an exceptional remix package on hfn music. Having dropped the stunning Fool album earlier this year, we are now treated to several stellar remixes of one of the standout tracks, the third official single ‘Bohemian Soul’. Kasper had a memorable experience in the Laid Back studio, enlisting both vocal, guitar, 808 and some crazy SH-101 psychedelic acid synth bass jams, of the pioneering 80’s outfit responsible for crossover classics ‘Bakerman’ and ‘White Horse’ – Bjørke brings things bang up to date with a sparkling, ferociously epic dancefloor burner.

Bjørke´s standing on the international electronic music scene is once again evidenced by the quality of the remixes he can call on. The vinyl release features New York’s disco turned rave royalty Still Going (Dr. Dunks from Rub N Tug and Liv Spencer from House of House), delivering a signature 10-minute trip into psychedelic discoid goodness that holds the tension and key elements from the original version – underpinned by a relentless krautrock-meets-Donna Summer groove. On several occasions the track threatens to spin out of control, but somehow maintains its delirious tension for the duration.

On the flip, Hamburg’s Adana Twins, the duo that has gained tremendous success recently on Exploited Records, supply their ‘On A Cloudy Day’ remix, making perfect use of the iconic vocals to produce a thoughtful and deeply grooving house cut. The track’s neurotic synth makes an appearance half way through before the sunshine peaks through the clouds with a classic white-island breakdown.

Tambien‘s remix also get a vinyl release, and adventurous DJs will appreciate this slice of late night knowledge – the additional percussion bounces around the rolling bassline, balearic guitar and unsettling synth stabs. Tambien is the new exciting project of Marvin & Valentino who team up with Jazz guitarist and producer Beni Brachtel aka Bartellow.

As an exclusive remix goodie for Itunes, the Swedish krautdiscopsycherock band This Is Head, delivers a cool and live-twisted version, sure to please the indielovers out there.

A music video directed and shot by Karim Huu Do (who also was director on videos such as Kasper´s 1st hit single “Young Again” from the last album and the latest Bombay Bicycle Club “Lights Out, Words Gone”) will be out around the official releasedate accompanied by a 5 minute “shot edit” of the original 10 minute trip. The video is shot on location in Thailand. We can say no more at this point but promise a unique and beautiful video.

For me, music is a vessel to express one’s feelings. Sometimes it’s an escape from everyday life, sometimes a playground to experiment and try new things. Not every track has a deep meaning or concept but my music always reflects what state I’m in at the time of writing it.

I often draw inspiration from my talented producer friends, whose work pushes me to be creative and experimental. I also listen to a ton of music of course. I have phases where I listen to one genre more than others and I think it reflects in my music. At the moment my taste is all over the place though, from Jazz to 80s Indonesian Pop and Garage.

Patrick Conway is made of snips and snails and puppy tails. This is his second offering for the ESP Institute. On side A, 'Hypersocial' removes our minds from the daily online cesspool and pulls up emotions we haven’t felt for almost a year. We lost a Summer of dancing together en masse in clubs, fields, warehouses and pubs, but with this beautiful reminder of what true social synergy and collective ecstasy can physically feel like, the Bristolian by way of Berlin hits the nail right on the head (with a little help from his friends Quantum Thomas & Hoyahelper). Lush strings? Tick. Balmy chord progression? Tick. Ethereal vocal chops? Walloping bassline? Infectious rhythm? Goosebumps? Tears of joy? Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick! On the flip-side, 'Safety Test' is surely the tougher counterpart, the warm fuzzies are traded for a ten ton bag of grit. Here, Patrick foreshadows a sonic approach we’ll hear lot more of with his debut album early next year; a combination of abrasive rhythms, processed scraps, a grab bag of stabbing bleeps and bloops, distant car alarms, ballistic fax machines, and an arsenal of low frequencies so brutal your woofers will require jumper cables. So, a heroic slab for both a block party in your brain and sunset in your soul, these two songs will bring back the Summer you just lost.

Returning to French label Happiness Therapy is Vancouver based producer @jesse-bru, with his first LP in 9 years ! Influenced by early 90’s hip-hop’s use of samples, Jesse Bru’s sample-heavy music production style is highlighted in this diverse 15 tracks release spanning from Anthemic Summery House to Jazzy Emotional Electro.

This double vinyl album welcomes you with a dreamy opening track, leading into 3 heady raw houses tracks with jazzy keys, high paced breaks, and nostalgic trance chords. On the flip side, there are 3 breathtaking tracks ranging from soulful uplifting breaks to introspective emo electro demonstrating Jesse Bru’s extensive knowledge of a diversity of genres.

On the second vinyl we get to hear the deeper side of the release with 4 deep after hours tracks that vary from minimal dub vibes, bumping chicago house to astral drum and bass. On the reverse side closing out the LP are 4 tracks with 2 powerful female vocal driven tracks with deep melancholic grooves and an uplifting anthemic house track to finish off the LP.

 Kalahari Oyster Cult welcomes another from down under, Furious Frank with his very own Trip 2 Fantasy via OYSTER28. Three OG acid-licked club-ready rollers from the Australian 303-connoisseur plus a bonus destruction mix from trusted Frankfurt associate Ludwig A.F. 

A1 Existential Crisis, aka the current natural state of the world, sparks fly with flanged percussion springing between damaging drum work, making space for the juicy acid evolution. The journey develops to include dystopian stuttered vocals, glistening bells and pads to form a melancholic driver. 

Continue the mood, elastic processed rhythms roll and dip for the A2 Artificial Simulation, robotic mechanism holding hands with the heavenly, dream state timbre, fluttered and full of melodic resonance. 

The title track on the B1, Trip 2 Fantasy opens bold and brave, a punishing bass line and commanding claps, hot syncopation aimed for bodies moving. Thundering toms run stealthily underneath an ascending motif of delicate synthesis. “Join Me in my Dreams, My Trip to Fantasy” echoing out in seductive bliss over the driving undergrowth. 

The record is rounded off with an even deeper, throbbing rejig of the former from none other than Ludwig A.F. The “Floor destruction” mix isn’t coy about its intentions, risers, diced vocals and anticipation through the roof. 

A record ready to explode, whenever and wherever that may be.
