Fantastic Modern was born out of a series of week-long, hash fueled writing sessions while holed up during a cold Toronto winter. The band speaks to everyday themes of heartbreak, betrayal, boredom, aspiration and personal freedom, and are as much influenced by space rock and classic soul as they are by new electronic acts. While delivering a message of urban escapism, surreal lyricism and soaring melodies, their vocals bring David Byrne to mind if he were taking pills with iLoveMakonnen.
