I worked on this a few years ago. Only thing I didn't figure out were some of the stock sound effects that were used in the original. I think the mixing is a little off but the arrangement of samples is pretty spot-on IMO. Rock Band stems FTW

Chiptunes = WIN is a blog (https://chiptuneswin.com/) that covers most of what falls under the "video game music" umbrella.  They release compilations of chiptune music selected out of submissions sent to them.  Then, for each main comp, they get a different record label or collective to release submissions that didn't make the original + some new songs from the collaborating label's musicians.  Since DESKPOP's roots are in chiptune, we were more than happy to participate!  This compilation is an excellent showcase of what VGM has been, and where it could go.  We have a free download on Bandcamp, with streaming on Spotify/etc soon.  Enjoy!
