Following the January release of their celebrated second album, The Age of Fracture, CYMBALS close the year out with a limited edition 7" entitled What Eternity, featuring two new songs - 'Talk To Me' and 'Innocence'. Today Brooklyn Vegan are premiering 'Innocence'

The songs on What Eternity come to the wider world at almost the same time they did to the band – both tracks were recorded in September of this year, very soon after CYMBALS returned from their first US tour. Emboldened by the reception they received from audiences in cities thousands of miles from home, a concerted effort was made to harness the energy and enthusiasm of those US shows and to create something that reflected the band right now. Singer Jack describes some of the ideas behind 'Innocence':

"The song takes some inspiration from Etienne Daho's song "Sortir ce soir", and when playing it live I've started to just sing the chorus refrain from the Daho song over the outro instead of the English words. I hope it connects with some of the feelings associated with going out at night."

Both songs were produced by Dreamtrak and mixed by Dan Rejmer. Both songs are available to buy digitally today and the 7" will be available early in the new year.. Note to the collectors - 100 copies will be pressed on blue vinyl. Exactly one year to the day that The Age of Fracture was released, CYMBALS will be playing a headline show at the Waiting Room in London. The band will be playing new songs and also celebrating the release of What Eternity. Danish four-piece Communions have announced details of a new EP. Communions will be released on Tough Love Records on Monday 1st June. There will be two vinyl pressings - one on black vinyl, the other on blue available only from the Tough Love store.

The self-titled EP features lead track Out of My World and is accompanied by 4 other tracks, all recorded in their hometown of Copenhagen. The listing of the EP is as follows:

The EP is the second release on Tough Love Records, following the release of AA-side single So Long Sun/Love Stands Still at the end of 2014. The limited 7” sold-out and Pitchfork were quick to praise the A-side and hone in on their musical influences: “The song oozes effervescent warbles—from vocalist Martin Rehof, and the interplay of shimmering guitars, and lovely crescendos of reverb, reminiscent of early Stone Roses.” (Pitchfork)

Communions, made up of brothers Martin and Mads Rehof, Jacob van Deurs Formann and Frederik Lind Köppen, are fast-gaining attention for their transcendent melodies, delicate guitar lines and emotive pop songs about naivety and youth.
