Cuttin' Headz continues to define the contemporary house landscape with another superb EP, this time from Toman. The Dutchman has been hugely prolific since breaking through and his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets like No Art, Moscow & Eastenderz.

This fresh new EP opens with Madrugada, a tightly coiled bit of tech funk. The kicking drums and razor sharp hi hats are detailed with cool female vocal stabs, whirring effects and dramatic fills that really make the track pop. Better Is Weather is a much deeper tune but one that still packs a punch. The super balmy pads bring a nice summery feel to the breezy late night grooves and hints of garage skip.

All in all, another incredible standout EP from all involved.

Toman - Better Is Weather

PIV042 picks up the pace with label resident and versatile Dutch producer Project 89. The opening piece When I'm Around delivers a classic journey of funk, followed by the dreamy and absolute groover Rooftop. Title track Notice Me gets any dancefloor triggered around its melodious output, while the dub feeling of Sudden wraps up this solid pack of original cuts.

Born and raised in San Bernardino, California, now based in Braintree Essex; Locus resident Madvilla's melting pot is frothing over with US/UK influences and flavours right now. It's an intoxicating, soulful mixture we've enjoyed on the likes of No Art, Locus, hedZup. Now Pets where he makes his debut with these two beautiful boompty tunes - 'Come Together' and 'Freq Mode'. Time to unite.

'Come Together ft. Aanu' sets the temperature high; all hip-swing beats and subs that ooze out of the groove. We're met with delicious west coast style synths that wouldn't go amiss in a Mark Farina joint; psychedelic, inviting and perfect for the summer months ahead.

'Freq Mode' follows on a classic UKG tip. Those who can recall Jeremy Sylvester's Nice N Ripe productions, especially his G.O.D speed garage blueprints, will be especially pleased as Madvilla brings that wonderful warm bass and sultry groove back into the fore.

After his massive remix of Butch - No Worries, Dutch native Dennis Quin returns to Cécille Records. This time with an original EP.
It can't be ignored that Dennis Quin, who has collaborated with Kerri Chandler, Mr V. is on fire. With support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Chris Stussy, Enzo Siragusa, Toman and releasing on labels like Defected, PIV. House Music is definitely Dennis’s System.
This is also shown with his brand new EP on Cécille including a collaboration with the Victor Romeo (aka Victor Parris Mitchell) & Leatrice Brown hit from 1988 "Love will find a way" This record is a true classic and of the first releases on the legendary Chicago "Dance Mania" label.
Not only has Dennis used the original vocal with permission by Victor in a new modern way, but he created a completely new instrumental track amongst it. Ready to roll from Autumn up until next Summer. A true timeless future classic record has born.
Label-boss of PIV Records, Prunk took the original to another Club-vibe spectrum which has turned a lot of heads in the club already. The second remix completes this EP and is done by the talented Jesse Maas who injected an amazing classy touch.
The main track is joined by a second track that’s called ‘Square World’ another original one by Dennis, showing his moody / melodic skills with hypnotising chords and a firm break-beat groove.
