"As the sun is at its apex, Procyon alveare are hidden from view in our hive cities. They are resting away until its eventual rise from slumber. In the afternoon, most hive raccoon gazes are sleeping, but some intrepid individuals prefer to brave the streets during this busy time of human activity. They are careful not interfere with us, but will take every opportunity to search through dumpsters, sewer drains, and junk piles, using the tunnels and ventilation systems of megacities as their conduits of travel. Some gazes, rather than searching for forage, will instead haul away discarded electrical waste such as subwoofers, amplifiers, circuit boards, tablets, microprocessors, and even VR headsets, much to the surprise of animal researchers. 

The hive raccoon's inconspicuousness and intelligence, combined with its ferocity when cornered, makes a hive raccoon one of the hardest creatures to catch. Eradication and sanitation teams for years have been trying to rid the "trash panda problem" in their hive cities to no avail; they seem to be able to bypass complex security and monitoring systems. Foot patrols are rarely successful, as the nocturnal mammals are quick on the feet and cunningly devilish, sticking to the cover under the shadows of mega structures and arcologies that dot the world. Even if a hive raccoon was caught and caged remotely, they somehow escape their confines. Pest patrols are often left bewildered once they arrive at the trapping site; bait that was left out would be gone, but there would be no other signs of disturbances and no trapped raccoons, much to the dismay and vehement displeasure of city councilors.

As scientists though on this program tonight, we would like to cast a different light on the raccoon. As a new species that has proliferated across the world, we believe that the adaptation and evolution of the hive raccoon warrants another look at animal intelligence. It is our utmost scientific duty to study them and in turn, learn important lessons from these crafty creatures. That is why tonight, we bring you our program, an immersive VR experience that will      take you on a journey as we witness a gaze of hive raccoons traverse the maze-like alleys and walkways of Angeles Basin Megacity.

One of the most expressive cuts of IN TECHNICOLOR gets a deserved club update with album collaborator ROOSEVELT's revamp of LES DILETTANTES. Originally a slightly no-wavey narrative sporting the idiosyncratic voicework of MIT's Edi Winarni, the track now pushes back its free-form properties for a heavily disco-infused work-out driven by exquisite hooks and a delibarately jam-like mentality. Edi's singing remains largely unchanged, but reveals unexpected glamour within the new context, making this an appropriately flashy addition to IN TECHNICOLOR REMIXE.

[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE]  We received this demo of Steady Rock from Bruno Furlan, who emailed us excited about a brand new artist he recently discovered and knew we would too. Claude tested it out the biggest way possible—by opening his set at Dirtybird Campout West Coast with it. 

Steady Rock just so happened to be at the festival and heard his track being played, and the next day he ran into Claude at one of the many Campout activities and told him that was his song. Claude signed it right there, and now here it is for you.

-How long have you been creating music?
I've been making music for about 5 years now. First in a duo but recently solo.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
Logic Pro for life!

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
So this is an interesting one actually. Who's Afraid of Detroit was actually one of the first Deep/ Tech House tracks I ever downloaded when I was about 15! So 8 years ago now.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Oh wow, there are so many I would love to collab with. Would have to be between Will Clarke and Ardalan I'd say.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Another tricky one. So I was at Secret Garden Party a few years back at The Drop stage, it was the last morning and the sun was rising, and this husband and wife duo who I'd never heard of and can't remember the name of, played this INSANE house set. It was really special.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would love to go to 1960s America, for the style and the music. The Rolling Stones man! 

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
A dodo. I know my dumbass would go extinct if I were a bird, I'm quite accident prone haha.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
So I know I'm only new to the label, but there is definitely a family vibe within Dirtybird, I feel like it really let's it's artists express their wackiness, and in a scene which can sometimes be too cool for its own good, that is a huge asset.
