Thank you to everyone who popped their head in and contributed to The Turning Point  at some point over the years.  It’s been one hell of a journey and luckily I have befriended the right people who made it easier and more rewarding when putting all the pieces of the puzzle together as we went along.  Thank you to the listeners, fans and clubbers.  Without you, there would be no ‘TTP’, there would be no party.

And speaking of party, I can’t wait to be back playing at one again.  Wishing for good things to come in the near future so we can all dance together again.

As you know, the yearly anniversary episodes are 2 hour mixes which include a special 1 hour guest mix from a hand picked artist from myself.  I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to include artists that have inspired me with their music and creative talents.  They are all artists I feel need to be more in the spotlight and who’s talents need more recognition. 

For the 7 year anniversary guest mix, it was only right to keep things close to home, and help give true NYC talent the exposure it deserves once again.  I’ve been waiting a long while for him to finally be able to break out of his shell and unveil his hidden talents to the world.  We met 7 years ago around the time TTP first started and he’s been inspired by the show and concept, catching every months episode and gathering ideas for his own productions and sound over the years.

Working quietly in his project studio in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn (where he was born and raised), I can now say I am more than happy he’s finally been experiencing the fruits of his labor getting the recognition it deserves.  A home run with his first at bat - his new release ‘Pillars to Butterflies’ hot off the press on Nick Warren’s ‘Hope Recordings’, includes the vigorous and energetic ‘Sumeria’, which Warren himself has been smashing in just about every one of his sets across the globe for the last 18 months. I can’t see a better way to start a Discography.  And his own Sumeria is included later on the mix which might actually be the turning point of the mix.

A great friend, talented producer, and overall great guy who’s got a bright future ahead of him and the same birthday as me…and now he’s ready to take the DJ world by storm.

'The Turning Point' (Hour 84) - 7 Year Anniversary w/ Mike Isai

Perhaps part of the name of his project could best describe what sound this young Tunisian producer opted for. We have already repeated, and we will say again, to be different, newer, fresher, more innovative today is far more difficult. This producer refutes these claims because his music is very different and a real refreshment for the deep house scene. Different Ray is making a debut release for RYNTH called “Deep Lake”! The original is enhanced by remixes of great performers such as Part S and Charlie V!

LTR Premiere: Different Ray - Deep Lake (Charlie V Remix)[RYNTH]

That morning, the little witch woke up from the pleasant sound of the singing birds in her forest.  With her eyes half-open and still feeling drowsy from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized the next night there would be a full moon, which meant she’ll participate in the monthly witch coven (which always happens in a different location and in the ever-changing company of two other witches).  
After finishing her morning rituals and her daily inspection round the woods, the girl said goodbye to the forest dwellers, and flew into the unknown.  She knew she would – as always - reach her destination by simply following her inner compass.  To her surprise, she was flying straight to the North … a direction she had followed never before.  After a long flight over the North Sea (which she saw for the very first time), she finally saw land in the distance.  As she came closer, she discerned a spectacular coastline with fjords and rugged mountains.  At one particular moment, her inner compass told her to turn right and fly into a majestic fjord where she flew straight to the top of a steep rock, where she was welcomed by two other women : an old witch from the land of the fjords and a middle aged witch (around 150 years old) who came all the way from the Carpathian Mountains.  The three women looked at a breathtaking sunset from their majestic vantage point high above the fjord.  Soon the night fell and the young witch was spellbound by all the twinkling stars in the sky.  She had never seen such bright stars and they seemed to be unbelievably close.  To her amazement a constellation of eight stars slowly descended towards them and soon the eight stars were right in the middle of the three witches, gently floating at eye level.  The little witch had never before felt so connected with the universe and the stars.  After a while the three witches started to float in the air and gently soared upwards accompanied by the eight stars until they were surrounded by millions of stars.  The young witch felt a strong connection with her two sisters witch and with the eight stars, and she became so energized by all this that she started to glow.  The heat in her heart became so intense that she looked down and to her amazement she saw a little pinkish light jump out of her chest, beating at the pace of her own heart.  Strangely the same thing happened with the two other witches, and their little stars had a blue and yellow glow.  The three newborn stars searched their place and settled down in their new galaxy, twinkling at exactly the same rhythm as the heartbeats of the three witches.
After that, the little witch gradually lost all sense of space and time and when she returned to planet earth in the company of her sisters witch, she was unable to tell whether this experience lasted just minutes or decades or even billions of years.  The women touched down on the same mountain top looking down over the fjord. And the little witch immediately gazed at the sky, just in time to spot a beautiful 11-star constellation (including a pinkish, a yellowish and a blueish star) slowly fading away as the night made place for yet another glorious day …
