Trance veteran ,been around for ages ,hey I remember when age of love was released in the local vinyl store.
First party I ever visited, was in 1990,in the epic club :Parkzicht Rotterdam .
Love that era ,when dj's where still Dj's and mixed from technics sl 1200 ,when djs did 4h sets all the time.
Today so many party's have a 5 to 10 people line up,in just one night,1h sets to show it all,  therefore there is no more build up or story to tell ,like we called it in the old days.

If you just listen to some off the sets on the big events ,you get the feeling many sets sound just the same ,hell with all these strings it is some what of the same .

Exceptions are the ones that go way back , like my fav Paul Oakenfold .
He just gets you there no matter where you are at.

Back in the early 90s ,the dutch dance scene was dominated by hardcore ,club and rave.

Trance was a dirty word (lol) can you believe that !!!
Those days, you had to travel some distance to hear those epic sets of progressive trance and goa.

The years when german Eye q records ,platipus and fnac were labels that dominated the scene.

When the belgian clubscene was epic,clubs like extreme,at the villa,la rocca etc etc.
People like phi-phi and my big friend koeni were at the turntables.
Stores like wally's groove world and usa import brought out epic tracks ,like emmanuel top tracs on attack rec and atom rec with boy from nowhere and heavens gate.

Like i said when dj"s where still artist ,not like now ,just pre mix the whole thing at home,and just play a bit with the bass live or even worse just put in youre own new record and press play.....like david gea.. wtf did ,at his realease party.
Numerous dj set list  show that,that dj's et contains more then half of his own tracks ,therefore turning it to a live act ,but with out the great machines that people like underworld or mouse on mars used .

Records that are made with moogs ,303s ,808 etc just sound way better and the direct sound you get from a vinyl is way more powefull,just listen to dark side of the moon on vinyl ,all who come from the vinyl age will agree.
I know there are now tics and scatches on digital but in my days you would hear that either in a set.

I guess at 10 e per vinyl (up to 15 or 20 for ep)you just are more carefull .......


Ok I know there are still very good real mixing djs around and not everything in the past was better,internet alone makes this time way better.
You can find setlist and downl trck ,in the old days you would hear a track and you would prob. look for years till you even know the name.

Since the internet ive found 1000s  of trck i remeber from back then,just last week i found a trck i was looking 4 ,for more then 20y.
Downside is that the fact that there is no limit ,gets me in a no limit state ,therefore just puttin something on gets hard (lol)
With over 300 vinyls,  1000 + cd ,and more then 500 gb(a wife ,debt collectors ,fire ,and some more issues cost me a big amount of my collection vinyl in the past)you could say the internet could be causing a time problem .
 
But hey whose counting ,when you got so much great stuff still waiting on us to( re)discover right.

To share is what makes its so rewarding finding that certain track you looked for ove rall those years is still an great feeling ,making someone find it is 2 ...



Cedric Piret also known as CP started his career in the early 90s. He plays in the most famous Belgian clubs and becomes resident in some of them (Baramundi, Palladium, Tao After Club, Pulse Factory).

Over the years, Cedric became a respected figure on the international clubbing scene. With this solid reputation, he plays in numerous clubs, festivals and events throughout Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, England, Germany, Romania, Russia, Mexico, France.... 
He is now A&R for several records labels, including Diki Records, Diki Records Classics, Mouvement Perpetuel, Clair Obscur, Art Max, Enigma, etc…
With an unrivalled vinyl collection and a talent for producing sets in a wide range of musical genres, he is able to create a unique atmosphere that captivates his audience and takes them on a musical odyssey through time.
