El mix 62 está a cargo de nuestro amigo Mo'Soul, a quien pudimos escuchar anteriormente en el capítulo 15 y con quien además tuvimos la suerte de conversar en una entrevista maravillosa.

Mo'Soul describe su selección así:

Sobre este mix puedo decir que lo tenía pensado desde que había vuelto a Francia de Chile a principios de marzo 2020. Tenía demasiadas ganas de hacer algo con música que no podía escuchar desde Chile y hacer una mezcla que tuviera un poco de todo (Zouk, MPB, Soul, Modern Soul, Gospel y Gospel sobre todo). 

Así que este mix es el producto de una cierta forma de frustración pero también de mucha alegría al poder darle una forma, casi me sentí liberado aunque suene un poco exagerado decirlo así haha! Espero que la gente que escuche este mix pueda descubrir algo que despierte la curiosidad en su oído. 

Lo que más me da curiosidad es como los sudamericanos percibirán un mix que contiene mucho gospel, ya que el tema religioso tiene mucho peso en estos países.

About this mix Jacques tells us "I had thought about it since I had returned to France from Chile in early March 2020. I wanted to do something with music that I couldn't listen to from Chile and make a mix that had a little bit of everything I listen: Zouk, MPB, Soul, Modern Soul and Gospel above all. " He also adds "this mix is ​​the product of a certain form of frustration but also a lot of joy to be able to give it a shape, I almost felt liberated although it sounds a bit exaggerated to say so. I hope that the people who listen to this mix can discover something that awakens curiosity in your ear. What I'm most curious about is how South Americans will perceive a mix that contains a lot of gospel, since the religious theme has a lot of weight in these countries. "

Max Essa's The Great Adventure is an album of his freshest recent tracks including 'Sundowning' - a real favourite of Hell Yeah founder Marco - and a first ever digital release of 'Peninsular,' which previously appeared on vinyl via the Aficionado label.

Japan based Essa runs his own Jansen Jardin label and in 2018 put out his excellent Lanterns LP on Music For Dreams, which he recently followed up with Oto No Wa - Selected Sounds of Japan 1988 - 2018, a compilation put together with Ken Hidaka and DR Rob. He has been active since the early 90s, putting out tranquil, thoughtful sounds on the likes of Warp, Is It Balearic? Recordings and Papereordings. His fans include late legends like Andrew Weatherall and David Mancuso and he has a busy DJ diary that takes him all over Asia and South America. His music always acts as a sonic raft that floats you out to sea and leaves you bobbing up and down in a state of pure bliss.

'Sundowning' is a brilliant slow motion dance with cathartic acoustic guitars, Mediterranean grooves and retro synths, while the rest of the tunes have been getting support from those who know, and that will only continue as we start to dance properly again.

This collection shows off Essa's mature take on dance floor heaters and slow motion chillers, with plenty in between.
