You might be familiar with Houston guitarist Tom Triplett from such groups including but not limited to The Real Energy, No Talk, Hammatsu Tom & the Kroger Sushi River Band and the Homopolice.  In more recent times, perhaps you've stood, jaw agape, stunned by Tom's performances and recordings with OBN III's or BLAXXX.  Now, in the summer of 2015, Tom emerges from the shadows of those acclaimed projects, preparing to cast a huge shadow on HIS NEXT BAND. 

Tom is accompanied by drummer Josh Wolf (Secret Prostitutes, Sick Abuse, Crime Wave, The Real Energy, Bloody Hammer, Lysol S.S. and many, many more) and bassist Manie Chen (Titan Blood)

Pinkman stoke the furnaces of despair, fuelling them with Black Merlin. Conveyor belts grunt out resentment, cold chords curl, synthlines sneer and pallid percussion punctuates. Noise echoes above, hammered clanks exploding into shards. Below the work continues, sweat smeared stains and hissing airless gasps. In the end, all is swallowed; gulped into the gaping assembly line.

Marionette treks into Max Loderbauer's 'Greyland' for the sixth release - a subtle swerve into a time-lapse of a path less travelled. No trace of footsteps. A deserted landscape where allotropes interfere and coexist. Eerie and haunting, yet gentle and romantic. 

This incredibly unique record sees Max Loderbauer's second ever solo release - his first being 'Transparenz' back in 2013. From the legendary Sun Electric, to the Moritz Von Oswald Trio, his Vilod collaboration with Ricardo Villalobos, Non Standard Institute, and more recently the Ambiq improvisational live act - little light has been shed on Loderbauer's solo work. It's about time to let that beam permeate through the slit and watch his beautiful waveforms unfold.

Max Loderbauer - Who's That Born

Knives are proud to present the debut release from Belgian artist Obsequies, entitled Organn. 

At its core, Organn is a record about love and duality. Taking inspiration from Isidore-Lucien Ducasse's poem 'Les Chants de Maldoror', the record is antagonistic yet often drops its temper to reveal blistered beauty within the fray. Such are the condradictory elements within the compositions themselves: widescreen claustrophobia; glimmering sludge; piercing VHS ambience.

Visuals come courtesy of French mixed-media artist, Thomas Hauser. Hauser's imagery similarly evokes retrograde surrealism and further insists on a narrative at work here, with obscured characters playing out alongside mantric piano, filmic vox and hyperspeed jungle.
