'Holly Golightly' (released 16/05/25) is the lead single from Celestial Skies' new album 'The Art of Breaking Hearts' (released 23/05/25). Inspired by British acts including Muse and Franz Ferdinand, the song reimagines Holly Golightly - the blonde bombshell protagonist of Truman Capote's classic novella Breakfast at Tiffany's - as a charismastic young man who uses his youth and charm to get whatever he wants. The song explores power dynamics within relationships and how people use what they have - beauty, power, money - to manipulate others. It features guest vocals from Leeds-based singer/songwriter Kuill.

Holly Golightly

Desperation Nation is a social commentary on Britain's drinking and clubbing culture, telling the tale of a 30-something guy who's grown tired of the party lifestyle and isn't enjoying it anymore. It's the second single to be taken from 'The Art of Breaking Hearts' album, which will launch this spring.

'Go Slow!' is the lead single from Celestial Skies' forthcoming album 'The Art of Breaking Hearts', due for release later this spring. It's a concept album considering different approaches to navigating the world of dating and relationships. The character in 'Go Slow!' is an old-fashioned romantic when it comes to matters of the heart - he doesn't like to dive straight into things, he wants to invest time in really getting to know someone. The song was recorded and mixed at Manchester's Blueprint Studios, and features Manchester-based musician Venn Smyth on saxophone and Leeds singer/songwriter Kuill on backing vocals. It was mastered at London's Abbey Road Studios.

Go Slow!

'Silly Boy' is a whimsical folk pop song taken from 'The Art of Breaking Hearts', the second album from British pop/rock act Celestial Skies, which was released 23rd May 2025. 'Silly Boy' tells the story of a guy who drinks too much and says things he then regrets in the morning. It's written as an advice note to the guy, telling him that instead of responding in the moment, it would be a better idea to sleep on what's happened and make (hopefully) better decisions the next day.

'Sunrise Symphony' is taken from Celestial Skies' second album 'The Art of Breaking Hearts' which was released in May 2025. It's a song about appreciating wonder of the everyday, like being able to enjoy the beauty of a sunrise and being able to share that moment with someone.

The track is equal parts vulnerable and self-aware, pulling listeners into an intimate, confessional soundscape that feels both universal and deeply personal. The song was recorded and mixed at Manchester's renowned Blueprint Studios, and mastered at London's iconic Abbey Road Studios. It is released as a single on Friday 12th September 2025.

Celestial Skies is the stage name of British singer and songwriter Chris Selman. Chris has previously released music under his own name and under the pseudonym Words & Noises. His songs have been played by BBC Radio 6 Music and Channel 4, and have earned critical acclaim from the NME and The Guardian.

Celestial Skies' debut album 'Songs For Blue Romantics' was released in 2022 and was supported by LGBTQ+ media, with a feature in GAY TIMES magazine and airplay from Gaydio. Celestial Skies' music has also been featured by tastemaker publications including Wonderland, Notion and Rollacoaster.

After taking 2023 to write and roadtest new material at gigs, 2024 was a year of new music for Celestial Skies, with the politically-charged EP 'Walk in the Shadows' released in June to coincide with pride month. A new Christmas-themed EP, 'The Gender Agenda', was released in December.

2025 sees even more new music, with 'The Art of Breaking Hearts', the new album, released 23rd May. It includes the singles 'Go Slow!', 'Desperation Nation' and 'Holly Golightly'.
