"The God Gene" is a concept centered on humanity's connection (or lack thereof) physically and spiritually (though not necessarily religiously). 

Think of "God" in the sense of an unexplainable metaphysical force that connects us to everything within existence (whether we are aware of it or not). 

Think of "Gene" as the physical boundaries we find ourselves within, during this particular existence, at this specific time. 

"The God Gene" can also symbolize the confusing (and often violent) existential crisis we collectively find ourselves in.
