Razones Obvias EP is a mixture of breaks, electro and hip hop coming straight from the south of Spain from young artists Bazofia and Nerdiboy. 

Lorenzo Soria aka Bazofia is the percussionist of established band Califato 3/4, having played in festivals around Spain within the past 2 years. He is also part from underground music collective Industrias94 based in Sevilla, where they have been doing an amazing work promoting parties and releasing music. He delivers 2 solid tracks "No sé" and "Trastorno Polaroid" where he performs lighthearted rhymes about his everyday adventures, over broken mega beats, and sounds from space.

The other 50% of the EP comes from sevillian dj and producer DJ Nerdiboy. He has released heavy tunes in labels such as Nerang Recordings, Clipp.Art, or Flumo. His 2 tracks "Rave ya mind" and "Stay Fly" are two solid dj cuts exclusively made for the dancefloor counting for the second track with the collab of DJ Take Control. Broken beats, ghetto lyrics, and a heavy rain of acid melodies.

Italy’s Malandra Jr readies ‘Engrave EP’ on MOOD this January.

Following releases on acclaimed labels Diynamic, Stil Vor Talent, Cocoon, and beyond, the multifaceted DJ/producer Malandra Jr turns his sights to Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD imprint this January. Delivering a two-track EP for the unstoppable label, Malandra Jr turns in a pair of incendiary house tracks across his ‘Engrave EP’ sure to set dancefloors alight.

Leading the EP, ‘Engrave’ sways effortlessly with plodding low end, rolling snares, and snappy percussion hits for a hair-raising and dynamic peak time track. ‘Desert’ utilises energetic synth licks atop a pounding 4/4 pattern and moving arrangements for another high energy affair to round out another top-shelf release from the MOOD camp.

OKRAA heads up the second release on Shadow Puppet, with a remix from Nicolás Duque.

OKRAA, aka Juan Torres Alonso, follows his first release on Shadow Puppet with ‘Everything is Waves EP’, touching on a diverse range of genres including Electro, Garage, Currulao, Breaks, Acid House and beyond. On remix duties is Nicolás Duque, the prolific producer & selector from Colombia, with previous releases on Lobster Theremin, Nuances du Nuit and Gene on Earth’s Limousine Dream imprint.

Following airplay on BBC Radio 1, NTS, Rinse FM and more from his last EP, OKRAA presents a fully formed four-tracker written between Bogotá & London on an MPC. Leading the release, ‘Phase’ takes cues from UK Garage, as heartfelt lyrics collide with weighty low end, dense percussion and skippy beats before ‘Helpless Country’ follows with squelching acid lines, distorted breakbeats, and nostalgic pads.

‘Totem’ sees OKRAA take on the Currulao style, a native rhythm from Colombia, fusing it with a dose of dizzying electro. ‘Everything is Waves’ is a reverb-drenched atmospheric dreamscape, with emotive vocals meeting soaring synth leads. Rounding out the release is Nicolás Duque’s remix of ‘Phase’, with the producer taking the track to tripped-out territories, with delicate FX and keys balancing atop shuffling drum patterns.

Shadow Puppet is an interdisciplinary collective hailing from Bogotá and London. Founded in 2020, the label releases Electro, Ambient, IDM and beyond from Latin artists on vinyl and tape.
