Zolt is a hot bed of driving low end percussion and bass that lays the foundation for screaming leads and an anticipated vocal that builds to a memorable drop that will garner the attention of anyone on the dance floor. The flipside Take Me Down while similar has a rouge and cheeky Trent Reznor’esque vibe with on the edge bass synth work. Mike Turing is a world class University Professor in Sydney with equal lateral skills in the studio. Barbuto after 26 years in North America has returned to Australia and after working with Mike Turing on his Mavic Music label for several years have rightfully collaborated on this project to create the two undeniable dance weapons for Gain Recordings. The title track Zolt has been tastefully remixed for alternate and appropriate uses by techno meastros Giulia and Luis Miranda.

The Glitz are now ready to set off 2024 with a big bang. And a big bang is what we get with the track carrying the fitting title, “All In”. Here, the guys deliver a tune that fumes with attitude. Wild synths make a slow rise, building up a kind of tension that electrifies your whole body. The stomping groove drives the track forward, introducing us to a frenzy of sounds before moving towards the heavy hitting lift off. 

While the original track is already packed with The Glitz-vibes, Andreas and Daniel also serve us an excellent “Club Mix” that ensures no-one will be left standing still on the dance floor. Taking a more technoid approach to this one, they excellently reconstruct the track into a heavy hitting club tune infused with the wildness from the original, creating a whole new world of dance floor energy. It is a whirlwind of synths and bass, ready to blow you away.

In recent months there has been an Italian takeover of Intec with many of the artists having origins in that part of the world, and this new release from Rome based Sisko Electrofanatik is a continuation of that trend.

At the peak of the minimal craze he had a Beatport No.1 selling track called No Control but since then his sound has become very techno orientated with fans of his music including everyone from UMEK to Adam Beyer.

Prior to this debut appearance on Intec, other labels to feature Sisko Electrofanatik tracks and remixes include Suara, BluFin, Yoshitoshi and Frequenza.

Hard Drop is one of those tracks that does exactly what is says on the tin. Building slowly, it unleashes its main force after the euphoria of the breakdown when the percussion slams back in with maximum impact.

Holding suspense, the call and response percussion of Overground gradually unfolds as the groove takes hold. Swiftly picking up momentum, the steadily growing traction of this understated cut is the perfect pallet cleanser in a DJ set, as like a chameleon, it will blend perfectly with tracks of many different techno styles.

Closing the EP is Alis which has blocks of acid-tinged sounds layered with grinding pads and ambient textures. Hard hitting and chunky as hell, this stylish cut has a sound both distinctive and timeless.
