On Monday afternoon my camp Rise and I headed out for the first time on our artcar. Driving all across Burning Man for five hours was the perfect way to get a sense of the magnitude of this incredible spectacle. Besides my fellow Rise family more and more people hopped on the artcar. The vibe was incredible! And this ended up being one of my favourite memories of the week.

At one point we were cruising deep playa while the sun was setting. The artcar was super packed. Everything is covered in a smooth golden light. People dancing. People holding on to the car on their boards. People cruising along on their bikes. This was such a surreal and magical scene to experience. And int he back of our minds we were all realizing that this was only the first day. This was only the beginning of one of the most special weeks of our lives.

As it all happened very spontaneously, nothing was recorded, and so I decided to re-record part of this memorable journey and share it with you.

Special thanks to Rise for hosting me and for bringing the most incredible art experience to the playa.

Tania and Coen, together known as Ceno and Symphonics, began collaborating together in the winter of 2010. Already active in the DJ scene in and around Amsterdam, Dutch born Ceno decided to take his music in a unique direction with the cooperation of New York classically trained violinist Tania. Together, Ceno and Symphonics combines a distinct mix of musical thoughts and backgrounds into new, modern rolling techno. As a duo, they are an irresistible combination.  The chemistry between the two performers brings their audiences to the next level of entertainment.  With the vision that music is always expanding and moving, the two partners in crime are constantly coming up with new ways to share not only their love of music, but the art of live musical entertainment with as many audiences as possible.

Since their first gig together in the Westerunie in February 2010, they have developed a strong following in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.  Performing  at notable artists such as DJ’s Secret Cinema, Marco Bailey, Steve Rachmad, Michel de Hey, Roog, Erick-E, and Pleasurecraft, they are fast upcoming talents. Notable gigs they have performed at include Hoog Water, Lazy Sundays, Chateau Techno, Secret Garden Festival and Dance Valley.  Ceno and Symphonics hope to bring live performance more to the forefront in this genre of entertainment and music.

June 2025 - Not posting new songs for a bit as I am applying mastering to the current songs here. I am also redoing some of the effects for certain mixes so mastering comes out better. I'll announce when that is complete and return to creating new songs to add. 

I listen to tons of techno, trance and EDM. I grew up tho with 60s and 70s rock and jazz fusion. I took piano for five years. My dad played piano, accordian, xylophone, bongos and little bit of guitar. Mom was an oil and acrylic artist. In college I practiced piano in the listening rooms and hung out in the music degree buildings and went to bunches of concerts in the SF Bay Area. 

In 2018 I landed a writing gig with DJD UK Global Music and wrote 74 listener reviews of songs for their artists. The label owner later retired after a long career in music production and marketing and closed his label.

I released my debut digital album on the DJD UK Global Music label in March 2019 called "Off Grid Analog", 13 tracks, 48:05 minutes of experimental/electronic/noise original music available for just a year on all major online outlets.  It was fun working with a label and to create an album. 

In the past I've created music on a Korg Poly-61, Korg X-50 and an Alesis Micron and mixed on a Mackie 1402-VLZ3 14-channel mixer. Today I've been creating electronic, experimental and noise music with a Teenage Engineering PO-28 Robot Pocket Operator, Stylophone Gen X-1 Analog Synthesizer, Bastl Kastle 1.5 Synth,  Meeblip Geode Synth, Alesis Q25 Controller, Kieth McMillen QuNexus USB MIDI CV Gate Controller, Alesis Micron Synth, Rucci 8-bit Power Synth, Rucci Maximal Drone, Rucci 16-step CV Sequencer,  Moffenzeef Modular MSG II Black, Stylophone Gen R8 Synth, Bastl Dude Mixer, Korg Volca FM Synth, Make Noise O-Coast Synth, Korg Monotron Delay Synth, Korg NTS-1 Synth Benidub Filtro, Arturia Keystep Controller, etc. I got away from melodic pieces to explore music and to dabble in electronic, experimental, noise, drone and experimental techno, ambient, trance styles.

My home studio includes m-Audio BX5 powered monitors and use of Beyerdynamic studio headphones, Sony and Beats phones. I use a Chromebook and the cloud-based in-browser Bandlab DAW and I do my own mastering. I use both a Baslt Dude Mixer and the Behringer Xenyx 1002B 10-chnl mixer. I use Mogami cables, Roland Gold MIDI cable, CV cables, iConnectivity MIDI to USB cable. I use a Boomstick Psychoacoustic DAC for added richness of dynamics. Final signal path output goes through the USB audio adapter into my Chromebook.  I rarely do multitrack preferring a straight signal path from one device to the next till final put goes through a mixer to the audio adapter into the Chromebook.
