Four years in the making and entirely self-produced, 'Tall Tales' is the first full-length album from London-based alternative folk band Ringlefinch. 

With dark-humoured, wittily introspective lyrics set to upbeat, offbeat earworm tunes and a strong folk-storytelling sensibility, 'Tall Tales' centres on themes of identity, exploring how we all tell ourselves stories of who we are to try and make sense of our place in the world. This sense of self-determination even extends to the production of the album - the band recorded and mixed it on equipment they built themselves.

"The Masochism Tango"
Talented pianist - a gifted singer with superbly deft comic timing and a line in dark humour - respected lecturer in mathematics at Harvard University - Tom Lehrer is also one of the great satirical songwriters of the twentieth century. One of his earlier songs, "The Masochism Tango" scandalised audiences on its release in the late 1950s. How times have changed.

The original demo for "The Nowhere King." I always wanted our villain to have a creepy sort of children's rhyme for a theme. Originally, I thought of children singing along to a broken, detuned music box that was sort of speeding up and slowing down. While Horse and Rider have their own lullaby theme, I also wanted our villain to have his own, much darker lullaby

Fragile Things (Full Demo)

Guitar and drums for this by Dominic. This was a really fun one to write/record. I liked the idea of someone ugly crying while trying to sing an up-tempo rock song and it felt very Horse to try to will her sadness away this aggressively.

I love so many genres of music and it was really fun to explore different regions within Centaurworld/assign musical styles to them. "It's Hidin' Time" was one of my favorites to write, especially since it was so different from a lot of the other songs in the show.

Rough demo for "Who Is She." Recorded in a bathroom with a snowball mic and a midi keyboard. So, so, so much credit to Toby Chu for making this song sound so epic and appropriately stadium-rock-y, to Kimiko for blowing us away at the record, and to Jeremy Polgar for storyboarding the hell out of this moment. It was so cool to see it evolve from this rough track o what it ended up being in the show.
