For mix number 15 in the PPRZ Podcast series, we have a mix from Vancouver's @reidfernando

Reid Fernando is a Scottish DJ/visual artist who's quickly carved a name for himself within the Canadian dance music scene.

After discovering a deep love for groovy and abrasive sounds in Glasgow, he has been consistently honing his sound at some of the finest establishments in the capital plus a monthly residency on EHFM from its inception.

Following a serendipitous encounter with PHTM head honcho Tommy Lewis at Dolly Disco, the two have worked endlessly to push their label and collective to the farthest reaches of the globe. 

Reid Fernando describes the mix as "This mix represents the culmination of my DJing efforts over the past two years of my life in Canada. I have encountered the most beautiful people in the scene here, fostering deep and powerful connections from these interactions, which has heavily informed my mixing style and holistic mindset. I feel privileged to be surrounded by such immense talent; showcasing my contemporaries' production efforts amongst label signees and the freshest slices of groovy music is an absolute treat.

Expect to hear relentless technoid grooves interspersed with minimal/bass flavorings, wrapped up in a clean, sexy veneer 😉"

Shimmy Robin is a Hamburg based DJ and part of the collective OSZIL. Together with Dj blip she also organizes the event series blipmotif in the legendary underground Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg. She aims at making her audience high through music, by taking the crowd on an adventure full of vast genres and sub-genres, keeping a continuous drive and flow. Blending deep
Techno soundscapes, light to dark, into high engaging percussive and bongo sounds determines her style.

Her playful sets feature some extra spice with vocals at peak and always leave room for some orchestral feelings due to the dramaturgy that builds up.

This week’s entry to the Four Four Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Dublin Digital Radio and The Midnight Disco Resident Sahana. The New York City-born and now Dublin-based DJ has supplied an hour-long recording that traverses a wide range of atmospheres and genres. Dig in!

This week’s entry to the Local Selection Mix Series features an eclectic mix of house and techno from Dublin Digital Radio and The Midnight Disco Resident Sahana. She provides a stunning selection of quality dance music throughout as she gradually raises the energy during the duration of the recording, including a flurry of old-school techno gems that are full of flavour in the process.

Sahana operates a monthly show on DDR titled ‘Mast Hour’ where she uses her platform to champion DJs of colour. Some of the guests on her show include reputable DJs Ricky Chong, Laurence Kapinga and JWY who have appeared on the show since its inception earlier this year. Sahana has also provided recordings of her own to the show as well as appearances on some excellent mix series which include Skin & Blister’s Minx Series, WWW (DDR), Efa O’Neill’s Out of Space (DDR) and Foxgluv. Her hard work and dedication as an artist has earned her lucrative support slots for artists such as Denis Sulta and Haai. Not to mention an all-night-long show in Izakaya’s famed funk bunker.
