Here is a love song of sorts crafted from a poem I wrote almost 30 years ago when I met my wife.  Tells of strong emotional feelings and love. So glad that I saved the journal where I did lots of writing at that time in life.  And so glad that I have started again, this time with music.

Yet here I am so cynical 
Tearing flesh & breaking bones
You said my heart was your home
When all the stars fell from the sky
You never asked the reason why
And here I stand: a mausoleum 
While you're nowhere to be seen

Chimneys burned when we were young
The dust of coal was in our lungs

But, time erodes a youthful soul

And this old town: it draws you in
Gets under flesh, & under skin
