Kyle Douglas is a seasoned Disc Jockey with over 25 years of experience and a true embodiment of Chicago's vibrant and influential House Music scene, where his House Music journey began. His beginnings in the genre trace back to the early days when House Music was a cultural force, uniting people and evolving as an ever-changing art form. Known for his impeccable track selection and smooth mixing, Kyle's performances leave an indelible mark on his audience. Specializing in Underground House, Deep House, Minimal, Tech House, Afro House, and Disco, he possesses the versatility to confidently navigate through various subgenres. Kyle's approach is both technical and stylish, displaying assertiveness in layering tracks and precision in programming.

What sets Kyle apart is his commitment to the authentic roots of DJing—he learned on and regularly spins vinyl, showcasing a rare dedication to the craft. With a music library dating back to the late 90s, he actively seeks and collects records, adding a tangible connection to the rich history of House Music. A risk-taker behind the decks, Kyle incorporates new techniques, experimental sounds, and intricate layering, keeping his sets fresh and innovative.

Having served as a resident DJ and sound engineer in major markets such as the UK, Chicago, Northern California, New York, and Seattle, Kyle's passion culminated in the co-founding of House Cleaning Records (HCR) in February 2021, alongside his life and business partner, Jenn Sturgill. HCR is not just a label but a community fostering creativity, inclusion, dance, mentorship, and joy. The mission is to drive the House Music genre forward while respecting its history, creating a nurturing space for artistic expression and knowledge-sharing. Kyle's journey as a well-traveled DJ extends beyond Chicago, with performances at festivals in Northern California, the UK, DISTRIKT (Burning Man), WMC (Miami), and ADE (Amsterdam). Kyle's loyal following comprises cultured House enthusiasts, fellow DJs and producers, and artists across other genres who are inspired by his best-in-class music file organizational structure.

Beyond his musical prowess, Kyle is a mentor at heart, engaging with his audience, sharing knowledge, and fostering connections. There have been times where fellow DJs have been unable to discern whether he's playing on digital or vinyl, a testament to his seasoned mixing skills. Kyle Douglas, at his core, is an artist who simply loves to immerse himself in the rhythm of the crowd, making every performance a memorable celebration of House Music's soulful legacy.

Certified Jackin was formed in 2011 with the intention of taking the big-bass “jackin house” sound that was taking over the North of England and the Midlands and deliver to a wider audience. This was achieved via a simple YouTube channel which quickly, and slightly unexpectedly, became a massive success, harnessing close to 100,000 subscribers and over 25 million views. The sound we delivered was greatly received throughout the United Kingdom and across the globe.
 
Over the following years, we helped promote and intensify the early careers of well-respected artists who featured heavily under the CJ name. Artists such as Hannah Wants, Chris Lorenzo and of course, our head honcho: ILL PHIL, amongst many others. Their meteoric rise through the music scene has, along with other artists and DJs brought underground House music to the forefront of the dance music world, specifically the ‘Jackin’, ‘Bass’ and ‘Tech House’ genres.
 
We host events across the United Kingdom, mainly at the prestigious Lightbox in London where we have hosted some of the best in the business: Endor, The Wideboys, Tom Bull, Rich Pinder, Skapes, Martin Ikin and others. We have taken Certified to Dublin with Tom Zanetti, Tom Garnett and Nick Hannam. We’ve also graced Tank in Sheffield, Insomnifest in Leeds, Manchester, Rotherham, Maidstone and Dover.
 
ILL PHIL’s world-famous Mixtapes have amassed millions of plays on SoundCloud and our debut album ‘Certified Jackin: Underground House Music’ cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes dance chart in mid-2014.
 
Our sound has naturally changed over time, but our values remain the same. We aim to deliver high energy, feel good, bass-laden house music with a twist. Full frontal, underground beats.
