The sudden change in tone and and flavor was jaw dropping.  Subtracting the driving kicks, removing that sense of forward progression, you're left with a sense of floating.  Fits with the song's name.

Fucking masterful manipulation of energy and listener expectation/realization.  This part makes you double-take and reassess.
