Born in Barcelona in 1981 and based nowadays in Trondheim, Norway, Pedro Sanmartín is a multidisciplinary artist that while studying a bachelor in Fine arts learned how to produce and compose his own music as well as the art of mixing vinyl. Pedro Spent some time immersed in the club culture of Germany where he launched his Dj career.

His productions in the last years on labels like Seven Villas, Everything Will Be Ok or Loot Recordings to name a few, have caught the attention of heavyweight names of the international electronic music scene. With his artistic understanding and approach to music, this prolific producer and DJ has carved his own signature of deep and emotive house and techno music.

La temporada pasada trazamos una retrospectiva basándonos en los años 96-2002, los de la explosión del club en Madrid, más en concreto en su esfera technera. Con respecto a aquel viaje nos hemos hecho una pregunta con ánimo de solucionarla; que hacían los modernos mientras tanto? 

Entiéndase por modernos esa parte de la escena que experimenta más que las otras, tanto a nivel musical como en ambiente y estética. Además en aquel momento aun existía la posibilidad de serlo sin caer en lo vano del término, ya que la vanguardia era nicho de muy pocos, al estar escondida en el no internet y barreada por prejuicios ciertamente predominantes. 

Resumimos con musicón y anécdotas mediante aquel Madrid, repleto él de sitios y de personajes que los llenaban de jueves a lunes. Nos detenemos en la descripción desmenuzada de clubs como The room, Coppelia, Goa, Weekend, Bali Hai, Boccaccio, DIY, Xenon… y sobre ello todo lo demás , todo aquello que hizo de los años bisagra Inter siglo tuvieran ese halo de magia tan inocente, divertida y especial 

Para ello rodeamos los micrófonos de gente que estuvo allí; un par de Dancers que se descubrieron a sí mismas en aquellas pistas, con el pibe que repartía los flyers en gran vía, con alguien que coleccionaba anécdotas dándolas ya rigor periodístico y con un bakala technero que observaba todo este fluir desde fuera como si de una película subtitulada se tratara.

Es un programa de viajar poniendo en entre dicho las leyes básicas de la física y es que se hace a través del tiempo. Si estuviste allí prepárate para desbloquear recuerdos, si no, pues casi mejor ya que podrás gozar descubriendo de dónde viene todo en nuestra ciudad y será tu primera vez en aquel Madrid de los modernos.

As a grassroot madrileño, attached to the fervent 90's club culture lived in the Spain's capital, Cesar Estrella's motivation was found deeply enough as to start his DJ career and musical programmer.

From there on, vinils coocked with deep bass lines, surround sounds covered by soft transient melodies and the characteristic progressive house hypnotic timing were feeding, little by little, his 

Bedrock, Yositoshi or Hooj Choons are some of the labels sticked more than once in his discography's backpack. His musical journey has been tested by different audiences, emphasising a long term period cubbing at London and Cambridge.

Everything has changed ever since, even music evolution. Thus, Estrella has been influenced by artist such as SCSI-9, Lawrence, Korablove, Lee Burton or Deniz Kurtel. A deep identity, sculpted by his hypnotic evocative capacity, has made Cesar Estrella keeping on growing as a DJ and music producer.

Preciesley is as a musical producer how he has released his first EP, published by Beiakrecords, the highly reputed label based in London also by the prestigious london label diplomaticrecirdings has plublished works like his EP Baoshì.
