Mazi Namvar, known mostly as Audio Soul Project, has been part of Chicago’s house music scene since the mid-90s. He started producing and DJing in 1994, and since then, his sound has taken shape through countless records, remixes, late nights, and dancefloors around the world. As Audio Soul Project, Mazi has released a wide range of music, from deep house and disco-inspired grooves to more stripped-back or experimental cuts. His albums Community (2002) and Hip Shake Heartache (2011) both show his knack for blending live elements with drum machines, analog gear, and chopped-up samples. His process is hands-on, driven by instinct, curiosity, and years of knowing what works in a room. Beyond making music, Mazi has spent decades DJing across clubs big and small, from Chicago to Europe and beyond. His sets are built on energy, flow, and a deep respect for the craft of mixing records. He’s also helped shape the scene behind the scenes. Through labels like Gourmet Recordings and Afterhours, Mazi has supported up-and-coming artists and put out music that might not have found a home anywhere else. Lately, his work has found a new wave of momentum with releases on Fresh Meat Records, Guesthouse Recordings, and Brique Rouge. Tracks like Satisfaction, Love Dub, and My Desire (with Ron Carroll) carry forward the raw, soulful vibe at the heart of house and garage. Mazi’s not here for nostalgia. He’s exploring, still pushing, still finding new angles on a sound he never left. He’s a lifer - part producer, part label head, part mentor - and always in service of the music.

NYC’s famed SOUP (Support Our Underground Properly) parties were founded by nightlife pro Chris Love (SOUP, Stuck On Earth) in the mid-90’s, and were designed to bring together dancers who wanted to hear the best in underground house and techno music. Legendary DJs Andy Smith (of Portishead fame), Detroit techno hero Juan Atkins, and NYC house pioneer Baby Hector Romero were some of the first to grace the decks in SOUP's early days, leading into a decade of top-quality House and Techno events . After a short hiatus from 2006-2009, Chris Love restarted the SOUP brand, ultimately teaming up with veteran DJ AB Logic (of the Hoodfellas production duo, and the Smoke City Music label) and forming their Love & Logic DJ/Production project. Known for thick vibes, wild dance floors, and world class DJs, SOUP quickly gained popularity in NYC among people seeking the best in underground music. In addition to playing host to top flight monthly guests like Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, The Dirtybird Crew, and more, SOUP has some of the most talented resident's the USA has to offer in Chris Love & AB Logic ( Love & Logic), Joe Pompeo, Chris Patrick, Jenia Le, and in vocalist Born I Music. After years of dance-floor destruction at various NYC venues, the SOUP crew took a regular residency at the infamous Cielo nightclub where they grace the decks monthly alongside an illustrious list of guest DJ’s. SOUP’s amazing music and crowd, combined with Cielo’s perfect dance music atmosphere and incredible Funktion One sound system, have created what’s with out a doubt one of NYC’s finest House+Techno nights. SOUP also does occasional parties at the world class Output venue and in Miami at MMW each year. See you on the dance floor!!!

Andrew Emil // Change Request 

A preeminent artist of Chicago's 3rd wave, Andrew Emil is one of house music’s most staunch stalwarts. A concert-trained percussionist since age 11, he earned a chair in his native Kansas City Symphony before eventually moving to Chicago. 

As a traditional musician, Andrew Emil has worked as a keyboardist, arranger, and an orchestrator on recording sessions and productions, cutting his teeth at the former Chicago Trax Recording Studios. 

Credited on over 200+ recordings, his composition and studio productions have ranged from concert works and sound design to film scoring stages and hundreds of releases of electronic music productions. 

After a life in live music performance, from orchestra percussion sections to punk rock ensembles, he crafted a reputation for House Music productions in Chicago under his own name, as well as Broadway & Wilson, and Uptown Tones. 

One of the earlier innovators of the “Jackin House” genre under the Broadway & Wilson moniker with Jeff Bloom, Andrew is never content to stay in one place or style of musical thought for very long. 

He is the only recording artist to do production work simultaneously for Derrick Carter’s Classic Music Company, Mark Farina’s Great Lakes Audio, Gene Farris’ Farris Wheel Recordings, and four-time GRAMMY nominee Steve “Silk” Hurley’s S&S Records.

A string of double-digit singles for prominent labels, including remixes for artists such as Common, Kanye West, Little Louie Vega, Jamie Principle, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Iz & Diz, Fast Eddie, Shalamar, Roland Clark, David Morales, Colette, Amp Fiddler, JT Donaldson, and Gene Farris, to name a few. 

2012 saw the emergence of his epithet, Change Request, with the Change Theory EP on four play music. This new persona allowed the freedom to explore hybrids of mid-tempo live instrument focused jazz-dance-fusion. 

Following this release was “After All” on Seasons Recordings, with another single thereafter featuring house music icon, Chez Damier, “I Wanna Go Back”, including a remarkable rework from Glenn Underground, on Glenview Records. 

The ever-growing collection of songs and musical dialogue eventually led to the conceptual album series from Change Request. Each full-length effort containing a completely separate story and scored via its own unique incidental subtext. 

Emil created AstraVox Music with the award-winning Los Angeles-based composer, Mr. Nathaniel, as a home for his increasing catalog of incidental dramatic musical compositions.

The Maggs Bruchez DJ/Production duo of Will Maggs & Andre Bruchez (Dre Chez) have been a staple in Philadelphia's underground house music community for more than a decade. They've played at most of the city's major clubs over the years, having held residencies at a handful of 'em. They've also played at clubs in cities around the world including Chicago, Milwaukee, Hawaii, Costa Rica, & NYC. They've had dozens of releases of their own music productions on a wide array of local and international house music labels as well has having curated over 100 releases from their network of groove-music friends from all over the world on their record label, emby music.

They currently throw a monthly house music party that's been going for over 6 years in Philadelphia called Pamplemousse that travels between various clubs and has hosted some of underground house music's most sought after DJs, including DJ Heather, Fred Everything, JT Donaldson, Scott Diaz, Recloose, Pete Moss, & Sam Tyler as well as some of Philly's finest dj talent.
