My admiration for Fred Again.. is huge! I am a big fan of his work. Fred the producer, the artist, but also Fred the person. I like his a work as a producer because his tracks are so strong, so groovy, blending old and new, lofi and hifi. I like him as an artist because the amount of positive energy he brings in is so big, so contagious. If you see him perform, take his Boilerroom session, you just get drawn in, in this collective energy burst and bubble. There is no escaping, it’s amazing!
But I am also a big fan of Fred as a person, of his message. Of course I don’t know him personally, but I strongly have the idea of knowing him by listening to his music, to the vibe of his music. It tells stories about problems of life, problems we all probably can relate to; about the difficulties, the loss, the loneliness, the search for connection. But he tells the story in a very empathic way. It has a positive and uplifting ring to it as well. He makes you feel that, although it is sometimes really tough, we definitely got this. As he emphasises: We can make it THROUGH!!
I really wanted to bring his message to the Progressive House community, to the Progressive dancefloors. That’s why I have chosen to rework one of my favourite Fred Again..tracks: Angie (I’ve Been Lost), and I really hope that I have succeeded in getting his vibe across!
