HOOP DREAM

I’ve made the drive from LA to Phoenix what feels like a hundred times. A little more than 5 hours, not quite 6, depending on when I left. Suburbs, small towns, windmills, farms… and then desert. Flat, endless, desert. Me, the music, and my thoughts. I thought of everything. And then, inevitably, always, I thought of her. More often than not, I was driving to see her. For a while, nothing and no one else mattered. I just had to get to her. The life I made from nothing in California was growing in unbelievable ways, and I was finding myself focused on The Valley. Six years in the City of Angels, and somehow I still ended up back under the Arizona sun. 

There’s a saying: find what you love and let it kill you. Maybe it’s true. But please make sure that no matter *who* you love, don’t let them kill you. Let go of the rope before it drags you all the way off the cliff. And even if it takes you off your path, have the strength to get yourself back on track.
