Solstice Live Experimental Playlist Week #2

As a band, our primary focus is the live performance; and with Two Rooms - EP, we aimed to create an honest portrayal of our music just as we play it. On a small budget, we committed ourselves to recording Two Rooms in two days at Big Orange Studio, and to tracking all of the songs live. 

Perhaps unconventional, the ten song EP is comprised of five improvised sketches (Chautauqua, Rhombus, Movements, and Two Rooms), one soundscape (Wild Senna), and four live-recorded songs (Scout, Riverburn, Amarillo and Headrush). Thus Two Rooms - EP paints a genuine picture. It is an introductory glimpse into both who we are and what we want to do together as musicians. 

Riley Engemoen, a great friend of ours and an incredible filmmaker, filmed us in the studio and made a video that premiered via Pop Press International (www.poppressinternational.com/2014/04/16/post-rock-band-chipper-jones-video-premiere-amarilloheadrush/) and can be viewed here: vimeo.com/91907041.

One night I stayed up until 2am talking to this guy, and found myself humming a love smitten tune the morning after while making coffee. 
I posted it on soundcloud and titled it "morning hum".

I fleshed out the song and two years later it became the theme to my thesis, which illustrates what it feels like to fall in love, more or less.

Thank you Jackson for making this song reach its absolute potential, this track wouldn't hit as hard with out your wonderful talent.
