Phase Transition (disquiet0471)

This is made from snippets of a one minute sample of ice in a glass. Though some effects are applied all sounds are included as sampled (with minor EQ in mix) and represent the original material fairly faithfully. The result is purely rhythmic and textural rather than containing any melody or harmony.

Crushed Ice (disquiet0471)

This track was produced by taking a recording of ice in a glass and repeating it at different speeds in Audacity. 

Based on the following prompt from the Disquiet Junto:

Please record the sound of an ice cube rattling in a glass, and make something of it.

Ice Chimes (disquiet0471)

Participation in the "Disquiet Junto" project led by Marc Weidenbaum: Phase Transition.
The Assignment: Record the sound of ice in a glass and make something with it.

Ice cubes fall into a glass.
Recorded with a Tascam DR-100MKII + built-in mics Uni.
The Tascam is placed vertically on the glass, in contact.
A Pure data patch lets you hear the recording transposed to 3 voices  and brings out their harmonic components by spreading out them over time.
At the beginning we hear the untransposed sound.

Des glaçons tombent dans un verre.
Enregistrés avec un Tascam DR-100MKII + micros intégrés Uni.
Le Tascam est posé verticalement sur le verre, en contact.
Un patch Pure data fait entendre l'enregistrement transposé sur 3 voix et fait apparaitre ses composantes harmoniques en les déployant dans le temps.
On entends au début le son non transposé.

This is stub of our collab piece for the Disquiet Junto Jam Time 2021. It is inspired by a patch by Omri Cohen and follows his idea of unsynced loops that I found relieving. For a long time my hesitation with electronic music creation was the idea of proper syncronisation...

took it back to the 80s with some ibanez hd1000 as a "hard reverb" recorded to tape, played back through the hd1000 as an octave up effect. tried to sinc up the reverbed and the octaved tracks but the tape didn't play back at the same speed every time (and I did some manual wobbles of the varispeed). Added some flanger with valhalla space modulator to give some stereo width to the pitch shifted track.
