CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

BINCK: I live in The Netherlands which has one of the biggest hard techno scenes in the world. There are raves everywhere all the time so I am very blessed to live here. My first contact with the hard techno scene was in April 2022. I was immediately hooked and even though my friends left earlier that day because they had enough I stayed there till the end and enjoyed the music that I did not even know existed.

Since I enjoyed that event so much I started to go to raves on my own which I still do to this day. After visiting a lot of events I grew tired of the same sound over and over again. That’s when I figured why not start to dj myself.

After buying my first mixer in March of 2023 I started to really dig more into music and I really started to love the underground industrial techno scene. Since then my musical taste has become narrower and narrower which also affects my style.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

BINCK: This is my first podcast I have recorded on four decks. This allows me to layer tracks all the time resulting in a podcast with constant high energy and with very minimal breaks.

Nowadays I try to use tracks you don’t often hear to deliver you something special because I used to really miss that while going to raves myself.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

BINCK: When I started to dj my style was heavily influenced by the artists I saw on stages at big events, but throughout the months I have found my style inside the underground industrial and bochka scene.

Nowadays I am focused on making my podcasts feel like stories with constant high energy and I fill them with the darkest tracks this scene has!

BINCK

SQCOS Bochka 369, a Stuttgart-based producer hailing from Germany, has been entrenched in the electronic music scene since 1996. With a versatile repertoire spanning techno, drum and bass, and electronic genres, he seamlessly navigates between vinyl and digital mediums. Notably, he holds a residency at Subland Club in Berlin. His early immersion in music led him to master the drums, contributing his skills to various bands. However, it was the burgeoning electronic music scene of the late '90s that truly ignited his passion. Embracing the electrifying energy of industrial culture, SQCOS gravitated towards breakbeats and bochka  techno, carving his niche in the vibrant landscape.
