Bliss Kiss is the new electrifying female DJ duo that consists of Julia Rover and Celia Crush. The young, and dynamic twosome is hailing from the city of Poznań, which has one of the most vibrant electronic music scenes in Poland. Their dj sets are an eclectic and mesmerizing mix of various genres like house, trance, acid, breakbeat that has already helped them achieve some recognition on the local level and distinguish them from the majority of one dimensional dj’s on the electronic music circuit in their homeland.

The 29th Champloo Music podcast is made by a beardy guy called Rik Elmont.

When Rik Elmont became aware of his passion for electronic dance music, internet shopping was yet to be invented. So, as a citizen of the saxonian countryside, Rik had to take a lengthy trainride to Leipzig to even get near a record store. Greatly impressed by american housemusic from detroit and chicago, Rik became some sort of a vinyl commuter. With his record collection growing, Rik started tweaking the knobs of a mixing console and soon booked his first gig at a local warehouse party. Driven by the idea to upgrade saxons electronic music scene he joined forces with like-minded friends and founded the club Rohtabak. In the six years Rik ran the club, a strong friendship with the infamous Nachtdigital Crew developed. Today Rik is a firm member of the the festival community were he is not only organizing the different bars but also plays as a dj. The funky, jacking, rough sound that is inspired by true originals like Theo Parish and Moodyman can be heard in both his vinyl sets and his own productions that gathered the attention of acclaimed artists like Ame or Akufen.

Champloo Music Podcast 29 with RIK ELMONT

With number 30 of our Champloo Music podcast series we have a very special and relaxing soundscape, mixed and selected by the one and only Eltron John from Warsaw, Poland.

Eltron John is not only a DJ, producer and record collector but also he has been a staple figure on the Polish underground music scene for almost a decade, well-loved for a passionate, no-nonsense approach to his craft. His signature sets – at times as long as 6-8 hours – cut across genres and eras, displaying the breadth of his musical roots, which lay in blues, soul, disco, dub and psychedelia, as much as in house and techno. Eltron John has played hundreds of gigs at clubs and festivals around the country and beyond, including Sonar Festival in Barcelona and Unsound New York. Furthermore, he was a participant in the 2008 edition of Red Bull Music Academy. He releases music on Pets Recordings, S1 Warsaw, U Know Me, Uncanny Valley and Koh-I-Noor.

Two turntables, one mixer and a bunch of dope Disco and House records, that's the modest way to discribe the 31st Champloo Music podcast... oh and it's made by Berlin's best kept secret DJ Delfonic.  Enjoy :)

Biography
---------
Delfonic started his professional DJ career in 2004 and has meanwhile played every single club, shack and party in Berlin, and quite a bit in Germany and Europe too. He is holding two residencies, one weekly at Gretchen (the infamous follow up to the Icon Club) and a monthly one called “deep riot” at Farbfernseher. His residency at Icon/Gretchen led him to play very successful sets alongside internationally acclaimed DJ's as Coldcut, Amon Tobin, Bonobo, FaltyDL, Jazzanova, Flying Lotus and many more.

Markus is also vital in providing (Berlin's) Djs with music via his record store OYE in Prenzlauer Berg and organizing the incredible Berlin record store day once a year (in November).

Also he is Label Manager of Box aus Holz, Torben & Money $ex Records, which are related to OYE Records.

In addition to that he produces music for advertising (with his friend Boris...) but we just got the promise from him, that he will work more on club music from now on, too.

A busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but a openminded music taste including grooves from Reggae to Hip Hop, from UK Bass to House and from Dub Step to Jungle and classic Funk, Soul & Disco.

It´s all about the Groove . . .

Champloo Music Podcast 33 with JAN KETEL

The new Champloo Music podcast is made by skptc (Phillip Roth)from Dresden, Germany. 

Skptc is part of the Dresden based crew “MK34 & the Prince of Saturn”. He received his dad’s Soul, Funk and Rock record collection at the age of 17 and kept on collecting vinyl ever since - at first mostly Grunge and Crossover, some HipHop as well. Around high school graduation, he discovered Ninja Tunes and Warp - from there things more or less developed by themselves.
His first DJ attempts were made starting in 2000, after buying Mr. Scruff’s “Trouser Jazz”. Scruff remains one of his strongest inspirations to date, because of his versatile and eclectic style of mixing. 
In 2006 he started actual deejaying, when he moved in a flat with a fellow music-enthusiast. They now make up as “MK34 & the Prince of Saturn” (Olo, Ike, CVBox). There, he then was introduced to the world of Detroit and Chicago (and Berlin).
It all started with out-of-control home-parties with all 4 taking turns playing the newest discoveries. Later, they approached local clubs and started throwing public parties that people actually were happy to attend. They have been running a monthly oddball tunes showcase in Dresden called “Jazzheavens” with rotating guest appearances for well over six years now. Skptc alias Phillip Roth lives in Essen today and works as a scholar in Social Sciences and still deejays whenever he can!

Steffen Friedrich alias Filburt belongs to that tireless network which is responsible for pushing Leipzig to the famous address for electronic music, it is today. Being active as a host and Dj since the beginning of the last decade, he led the regional record shop Freezone for many years, which became Kann Records later on. Steffen especially became popular as a producer together with Good Guy Mikesh with records for Permanent Vacation and Mirau, as well as solo or in combination with Ron Deacon as RDF. Since 2011 he focuses on his own label O*RS, where he mainly puplishes music from artists located in his hometown.

We continue our series of obscure dope folk music with a mix by Lüle from Belgrad, Serbia. He's part of the music project Kompleks and also running parties at Belgrad's most famous club "Klub 20/44" called  Opskura.

Full bio: 

Lüle aka Bojan Gajić is present on club scene since 1999. As a DJ, producer, live act, one-man show, the duo, radio host... Currently he is working under alias Kompleks, project created back in 2007, alongside Nebojša Bogdanović (Schwabe). They are known for their edits, as well as live performances. So far, they’ve released 6 vinyls and a large number of digital releases. They are very proud on their collaboration with Theo Parrish, later released on Far Out Recordings as limited edition *12” vinyl. *Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra – Keep Believing (Can You Feel It) With Kompleks (or solo under alias Lüle), he performed in Belgrade and all major cities in Serbia. Foreign booking came from Russia, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina... He is one of the first residents in the infamous underground club Boat 20/44.

Rauris Leto, born in Dresden and is staying for his studies in Görlitz, didn’t just rock and win the DAVE DJ-Contest in 2015, but is also part of the „Tropical Schmutz“-Crew, who regularly arranges experimental raves in Dresden‘s local clubs. Speaking of „experimental“, this is how Rauris Leto’s sound could be described best, including – from Disco, Acid-House, Dubstep to Jungle – simply everything that brings joy to the dancefloor.

When in a club, Møreti delivers a pacific, cultivated selection of Techno, while in chill out rooms he tends towards anomalous and obscure records.

Our new Champloo Music podcast is made by Scratchynski from Dresden, Germany. 

Being a DJ since 1998, Scratchynski's musical journey startet with techno and faded to house in the early 2000s. From 2008 Dubstep and Grime dominated his musical interests, what led to the monthly series "Sub der Republik", from which the Sub Sickness crew emerged, that strongly influenced the Dresden bass music scene with top-class guest performances by Mala, Om Unit, Kahn, Eprom and many more. But since musical style boundaries were never Scratchynski's thing, electronically infected Hip Hop á la Flying Lotus, Eprom, Gaslamp Killer etc. in connection with the first Footwork releases already met wide open ears at this time. This is especially true for Funky Monkey, when Scratchynski, DNZ and east enter the DJ Spaceship and play entire nights together on 4 decks and 3 mixers. Solo, his sets are characterized by all the influences that shaped his musical path - an eclectic mix of HipHop, Glitch, Juke, Future Beatz and a good portion of bass. You can hear it regularly on the Infinite Sequence series and the corresponding monthly podcast. Besides his activities as DJ and promoter, Scratchynski is one of the founders of the Dresden based DAVE Festival.
