From East London, voltaic singer, songwriter Sam presents a refreshing taste with his music.  Since recording and writing from the tender age of thirteen, his centre focus has always been music.

Currently he is in the studio working on a 5 track EP that will be released later this year.

Pumping Norteño bass scored my childhood soundtrack in the small motor town of Bedford, Indiana. An energetic culture-clash forged my home, sparked by contrasting parents: My factory-worker father, a good ole’ boy from the Indiana backwoods, was my hero. He had nothing in his childhood, but grew to give us everything. My mother came from a tiny village in the Costa Rican rainforest to search for a better life in the US. A fantastic cook, she encouraged my spirit, music, dancing, and imagination. Once, we were coloring and I didn’t have a green crayon for the trees. “The trees can be any color you want,” she told me. That’s been my philosophy ever since.

Growing older, though, my imagination and independence could make for a hard time. My ever-changing, crazy hair and Madonna-wannabe ensembles were a bit much for Bedford. Bullied and picked on, a teacher once even threatened to beat out my sissiness with his fists, but the spirit of music kept me going. From age four, I sang, performed, and composed in school plays, recitals, choirs, and voice lessons: Glen Campbell at family parties. Bjork and Sinead O’Connor at my bedroom mirror. I prayed for Madonna to rescue me. She never showed. So I got the hell out of Bedford.

My mother loved Mexican music, and my father loved old country. Not until I started performing in New York City did I try experimenting with those old Ranchera and vintage Country songs I had grown up with. They matched my counter-tenor voice, often compared to Karen Carpenter, Patsy Cline, and St. Vincent. Audiences loved the Spanish classics combined with my original English songs at legendary venues such as The Knitting Factory, CBGBs, The Bell House, Pete’s Candy Store, and Galapagos. 

When people ask me to describe my music or who I sound like I have to admit that I have been inspired by everything I’ve ever heard. I may say I’m inspired by Loretta Lynn or Pink Floyd, not necessarily by sound, but maybe I’m using their approach. I think Indie Pop would be a general title for my genre; though DJs have also created hi-energy dance mixes of my material. My first release, In A Song, went to #13 on Billboard’s Dance Club Play Chart, spending 15 weeks on the countdown. Follow-ups All the Stars, Go, If, and Pura Vida were also worldwide hits. 

When not singing, I’ve been the founder and co-host of The Williamsburg Spelling Bee at Pete’s Candy Store. Since 2004, we’ve been covered by NBC, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, NPR U.S.A., NPR Germany, NPR Japan, Time Out NY, Paper Magazine, and many international newspapers and airline travel magazines.

From Indiana to Costa Rica, Country to Norteño, and “axolotl” to “sesquipedalian,” that’s my pura vida.

Tai Malone, British born singer/songwriter/producer has been a recording artist since 2013. 

 Also having once been one half of the House music DJ/vocal duo Gaps & Malone, from 2011 to 2013, Tai performed live vocal sets in clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Egg, O2, Zinc and various nightclubs around London and Essex.

 2013 was the start of his recording career putting out a promo Soul track/video called "Life's Not So Bad" on YouTube which became an underground hit, receiving generous Radio Airplay by 40 DJ's on 18 stations in the UK, US, Belgium, France and Nigeria. 

 Tai also promptly made some headway on the Soulful House scene after being approached by Booker T.

His hit track "Taken Over" was signed to Booker T's Liquid Deep label in 2014 and went to number 5 on the Traxsource Top 100 Soulful House sales chart, number 3 on the Traxsource Top 100 Afro House sales chart and number 16 in the overall Top 100 sales chart. It was also voted one of the Top 200 House tracks of 2014!

Tai has since had many chart certified House hits to date, collaborating with producers including: Mark Di Meo, Steve Paradise, N'Dinga Gaba, Michele Chiavarini, Ross Couch, Lexa Hill, Deep Sole Syndicate and Soulista to name a few.

Tai also followed up his Debut promo single with a Soul/Neo/RnB inspired EP entitled "Moving On" in  2015 which made some headway on the radio airwaves in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Brazil and the US.

 The Popular track 'Relax Yourself' also peaked at number 8 on The Breaking Artist Chart Top 20.

His 2nd Ep released in 2017 entitled "Memories" also received great acclaim and made Top 10 in both the Mi-Soul Connoisseurs Chart and the Breaking Artists Chart.
 Also made the Top 40 in the 50/50 Shows Top 100 Albums of 2017.
A follow up single later ensued in 2019 entitled "Rocking Inside you" recorded whilst living in Egypt and again had generous airplay in several countries and went straight in at Number 8 on the Global Soul Chart and peaked at Number 3 on the Breaking Artists Chart.
2 single releases in 2020 "Hand In The Fire" in February peaking at number 8 on the Global Soul Chart and number 5 on the Breaking Artist Chart. The 2nd single released in October has been the biggest hit yet, peaking on the Global Soul Chart at Number 3 and spending 5 weeks in the Chart. Number 5 on the Breaking Artist Chart, Number 11 in the Grenada Soul Chart Top 30 (West Indies) and Number 5 on the Radio Indie Soul Chart (US)

He has also done many live performances from 2016 to date off the back of his catalogue enabling him to share a stage with the likes of Uk greats and US crossovers :Hil St Soul and Loose Ends. Other UK Soul and reggae greats he has shared a stage with are :Don-E, Carroll Thompson, Winston Reedy and John Mclean

Tai is currently iliving back in the UK sine the pandemic and is currently recording his Debut official Album, set to release mid 2021, as well as working on forthcoming Soulful House projects.

 He currently released a track off the forthcoming Album "Rocking Inside You" on Soundcloud.
