Akito is no stranger to London's club scene. Over the last years he has released four EP's and an album, established his label Sans Absence, while maintaining his monthly show on NTS Radio. In his new EP for Greek clubnights-turnt-label Not Now Records he finds a balance between his hard-hitting percussive sound and softer melodies that caption the repressed feelings of aggression, self-doubt and melancholy that the last period of isolation and uncertainty have elicited.

'Sliding Shadows" embodies the contrasting feeling of the record, the inner battle between serenity and undercurrent anger, where comforting steel drum chords and warm pads alternate with a menacing square bass over a hard drum riddim.

Guest Mix for Furious Styles Presents on Rinse FM (Aired 4.10.21)

My rediscovered love of percussion and rhythms from my own South Asian heritage, was very much sparked by that of the innovators doing so from the SWANA region over the last decade.  I had the honour of bringing these together for LUMA, freshly inspired by the Daytimers X Middle Of Nowhere Day/Night Party at Colour Factory in July 2022, where I shared a lineup with said innovators. 

Resulting in 30 minutes of hybrid, belly busting, head spinning and unravelling percussion, charting sonic alliances even futher across the Global South and Black Atlantic. Assembled together as an attempt to envision a blueprint for interracial coalition of solidarity through rhythm and bang the drum against ethno-nationalism.

Omar Suárez better known as “OMAAR” is a DJ / Producer originally from the north of the state of Mexico, Mexico.Suárez since childhood, thanks to the influence of his older brothers, developed an early interest in electronic music almost obsessive, which would eventually lead to an attentive ear to music and especially to the rhythms that come from the London Ghetto. His career as a producer begins in 2012, his sound of him goes from Techno with dark and nostalgic atmospheres and melodies with strong bass lines to rhythms with tropical percussion headed to the dance floor like UK Funky. He has also experimented with broken rhythms such as the Jungle, Drum & bass and some of its derivatives such as the UKGarage and the Grime to mention a few, disarming them until they can create hybrids. His versatile productions have led him to be one of the most proactive producers in the country, being a member and participating from different national and international record labels with EP’s and singles, like @naafi one of the most important in the Mexico City, in which he is currently a member and in where he has developed his project until today.

State OFFF is a Gqom producer and DJ based in Amsterdam. Described as the genre's "foremost curator" his debut EP, "GQOM TODAY" introduced a futuristic take on the dark, minimalist sound and went on to top Apple’s Hardcore Electronic Music charts in South Africa, Botswana, and South Korea.

In singing and DJing, Ohjeelo aims at erasing the concept of limits from her artistique process. Guided by various influences gathered throughout years of traveling and digging for music, her mixes and tracks are a constantly mutating patchwork of sounds.
