The collaboration with Modular Project continues in 2019 with the release of 'Vivid Poison', their new single.
Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli started to work together in 2015, joined by a strong love for music and vintage synths, and now they are running their own record label Nothing Is Real, spreading their music in Italy and around Europe.

Their electronic style is influenced by new wave and 80’s sound fusing powerful drums, pulsating synths for an emotional impact. ‘Vivid Poison' is the perfect example of this mixture.
Originally conceived after a jamming in the studio, after listening to a lot of Italo disco music, the song comes to life thanks to the collaboration with the artist Eleonora Zaripova.
The Russian-Tartarian artist now living in Berlin has a classical music education and jazz-experience. Her beautiful voice transmits fragility and strength, melancholy and soul, and fit perfectly with the music produced by Alberto and Alex, taking us back in time.

The release also includes two valuable remixes. After her debut on Rebirth in 2017 Perel is back on the label with two strong remixes combining the original vocals with her unique 90’s synth pop sound.
Tel Aviv artist Nadav Spiegel aka Autarkic, follows his productions on Disco Halal, Golf Channel and Turbo with a powerful remix, injecting his modern Israeli vibe, filthy, intensive yet emotional.

Exclusive Frankey & Sandrino 'Black Hole' 

Prolific artist duo Frankey & Sandrino are regular guests at the Oberbaumbrücke in Berlin, where they hold a residency at one of Berlin's most famous nightlife institutions, Watergate Club. Now the duo releases their long-awaited and highly anticipated debut on the club's label, namely their 'Nova EP', a four tracker with three originals and a Tiefschwarz remix that is suitable for all the different stages of a flamboyant club night. 'Black Hole' seemingly is the take for the last chapter of the night, a dark yet almost calm but rising synth is juxtaposed with an effervescent line and creates those infamous mental moments Frankey & Sandrino always tackle with their productions. The pads support the lead synth by carrying it in an background-ish manner giving it enough space to enfold virtue to leap into the audience's mind as more and more detailed soundscapes are added here and there to expoit the track's full (sound) potential.

Frankey & Sandrino's EP 'Nova' will be released on Watergate Records on January 27th, 2020.

Exclusive Orchestra Familiár - Born In Solitude

Isolate, run by Istanbul mainstays Murat Uncuoglu and Alican amogst others, is readying its second part of the Mutations series and altogether selected seven intense tracks for it, as all of them mutate to absolute addictive pieces and are made for various occasions of a night. After having made appearances on Innervisions' Secret Weapon compilation in 2019 and providing a remix for Dodi Palese' tune Traits on Engrave Ltd mysterious act Orchestra Familiár delivers another original, Born In Solitude, for the second installment of Mutations. Coming in with a lush bass line and almost dub-ish deep chords it's the picture-taking background sound that marks the track. Generallly it's the divine details and the way the artist arranged those in the track, which make Born In Solitude more than a Polaroid but an audible stunning experience. Driven by the implementation of fluffy melodical pads, which ensure an on-going or continuous momentum, Orchestra Familiár's contribution to Mutations II does what the series promises, it changes from lovely tune with a deep note into an intent on the details club take with super (deep) powers.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Stevie R back for a mini album to be released in two parts, each part respectively titled Oropós and Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias.

Stevie has been busy honing his signature “Rebetronica” sound, dynamically fusing the Rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with cutting edge influences and analogue electronics. Here he teams up with Parisinos, with whom he is forming a partnership for his own imprint Inside Out Records. The results are impressive, building on his debut album Melt released on Chapter 24 last year.

Part I’s title track Oropós is a case in point; it is a feat in elegant, pared back simplicity. An insanely catchy vocal offsets an equally hooky bassline and percussion track. Somehow pulling off being dark and upbeat through something of a "haunted house” vibe, the piece is satisfyingly propelled forward by a menacing acid line.

Oropós then receives a massive rework courtesy of Crossbreed founder Kiwi. Also based in London, the artist showcases all his skills on an Edition that amps the power and the darkness of the original while adding a touch of reverie for very good measure.

Part I is satisfyingly rounded off by a second original, Melina (on Acid). Italo-drenched arpeggios glisten across a cosmic backdrop, atop an octave bass. The sounds of the night have never felt so good.

Three thrilling stories in sound. Watch out for follow up package Ta Paidia Tis Geitonias in the coming weeks.
