For the third edition Telling Tales, we are delighted to welcome the wonderful Soul Button, founder of the exciting Berlin-based label Steyoyoke.

Soul Button's talents as a pioneering producer are perhaps only eclipsed by his skills as a selector and a DJ, as anyone who has heard his incredible mix series Inner Symphony will attest.

Telling Tales 003 is no different: taking the listener on a journey from drama and torment to suspense, settlement and newfound resolve, Soul Button invites us to step into his world and live the story with him, every step of the way. 

A true author of stories in sound, Soul Button is the ideal choice to headline our label launch, Gather Round, at The Star of Kings in London on December 20th, alongside a cast of talented Chapter 24 artists.

For our first Gather Round, we are pleased to say that we will be donating all our profits from ticket sales to Single Homeless Project (SHP), a charity for homeless and vulnerable people in London.

Hopi - Nordamerikanische Indianer, die zur uto-aztekischen Sprachfamilie gehören. Der Name Hopi kommt von "hopitu" = "die Friedlichen". Sie sind ein Volksstamm vom Zweig der Shoshone. Die früher abwertend Moqui genannten Hopi sind Teil der Gemeinschaft der Puebloindianer des Südwestens. Nach ihrer kulturellen Entwicklung waren sie ein hochkultiviertes Volk.
In ihrer kulturellen Tradition werden sie oft mit den Zuni und den Pueblo Indianern in Verbindung gebracht. Alle diese Völker lebten in Pueblos, Städten aus häufig mehrstöckigen, rechteckigen Häusern. Der Name Pueblo stammt von dem spanischen Wort für "Dorf". Sie leben in 25 unabhängigen Pueblos im Nordosten Arizonas. In diesen Pueblos konnte sich die Kultur der Hopi trotz aller Einflüsse erhalten.Die Vorfahren der Hopi wanderten vor mehr als tausend Jahre vor unserer Zeitrechnung in den nordamerikanischen Südwesten ein. Schon vor Entdeckung Amerikas durch Kolumbus lebten die Hopi in den Hochebenen des nordöstlichen Arizona und entwickelten die Ackerbaukultur. Um 700 n. Chr. hatten sie eine hochstehende Landwirtschaft entwickelt. Sie legten mitten in der Wüste ein Bewässerungssystem an. Die Felder gehörten der Sippe, jede Familie bestellte die ihnen zugeteilte Fläche. Sie bauten Mais, Bohnen, Kürbis und Baumwolle an. Um 1100 n. Chr. verließen sie ihre Erdhöhlen und begannen mit dem Bau mehrstöckiger Ziegelhäuser. Die ersten Städte wie Oraibi und Mesa Verde wurden gegründet.

Majim...remember this name! 
Born and raised in Turkey, now living in Berlin. This self-taught musician, spent quite some time travelling and playing around Europe´s streets.  Santur, bendir and ud are only some of the instruments he likes to perform during his live sets.  He played  (with his earlier alter ego -Paradaidha- )a great set in our recent label night party and now we are very happy to share with you Majim´s mix for our KAMAI Podcast series.

Für einen kurzen Zeitraum hatte ich meinen Auftrag aus den Augen verloren und bin zurück in alte Gewohnheiten gefallen. Ich muss meinen Fokus wieder erlangen. Ich sammle mich kurz und berichte meinem Umfeld vom nächsten großen ComRa Event. Leider stoßen meine Bemühungen auf Desinteresse. Die Leute hier scheinen die Aufmerksamkeitsspanne eines Eichhörnchen zu haben. Ihre Aufnahmefähigkeit scheint vom ganzen Schall und Rauch beeinträchtigt zu sein. Ich beschließe daher nach der nächsten Kippe die Runde wieder zu verlassen. Draußen angekommen blendet das Tageslicht meine Augen. Doch schon nach wenigen Sekunden gewöhnen sie sich an das neue Umfeld. Daher lasse ich die obligatorische Sonnenbrille probeweise mal weg. Anstatt sich, wie ansonsten üblich, vor der Sonne bestmöglich abzuschotten, genieße ich ihre lebensspendende Energie. Diese seelische Aufmunterung kommt mir sehr gelegen und weckt in mir wieder neuen Tatendrang.
