Who Is Malz You Should Ask?

Malz shortened from his real name Malcolm, is a multi-genre artist/producer and Nashville, Tn. native. His infatuation with music stemmed from being brought up in multi-cultural home where all genres of music was played. At the young age of 8, he began rapping with other children from the neighborhood which would ultimately lead him into beat making. Using one word to describe Malz “TALENT’- August Octavian



How Did He Become Malz?

By wanting to express himself and his point of views, he found out that music was a cool way of doing it. From observing local artist to researching famous hip-hop artists he learned how to come up with witty rhyme schemes. In 2008 he released his first mixtape “Outta Space Swagg” showcasing his skills as an artist. While putting the mixtape together, he discovered it a challenge to achieve the quality he wanted on the budget he had. This resulted in him learning to produce his own music and sound.  



What Is Malz Up to Now?

Currently he is working on an EP/Demo entitled “Catch It In Da Jaw”. The idea of the title derived from an old neighborhood slang term that was commonly used. This will be his first project where he is the sole producer and engineer. When he is not spending his time perfecting his craft, he is producing for other up-and-coming artist.



What Does The Future Hold For Malz?

In the future, Malz plans on securing his position in music history by exposing the world to his talent. He plans on making his brand well-known around world and growing as an overall artist. Once he has made his name in music he would like to break in acting and go from there. His dream is to have the opportunity to work with well-known artist and entertainers who has inspired him to do what he loves to do. Malz lives by the LLP motto “Learn from yesterday, Live for today, and Prepare for tomorrow”-
